On Cigs and Joints * 1
    #26901530 - 08/27/20 01:22 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

I'll start by saying I haven't smoked cannabis in three years.
Drug test for job, yada yada yada...
When I was smoking, my method of smoking was an unfiltered orange zigzag. Its just what I learned and I stuck to it.

I had a cigarette this evening. It was a hand roll Bugler, no filter. Not quality, but I figured I'd give it a go.
The similarities were uncanny. The peppery taste from the paper. The head rush. The motions, everything. The only thing I was missing was that sonic feeling of my mind being shot into the atmosphere. I was instantly back in the past when I was smoking joints on a regular basis. It made me wonder how much of that experience really was cannabis. These things were a big part of the ritual for me. I mean that initial head rush was exactly the same between the cig and the joint. My guess is it was oxygen deprivation, or the nicotine rush is similar to the come up of a good high. The peppery flavor is just the bleached paper, definitely not the healthiest of choices.

The steaks of brown tar ran down the paper from the cherry and made me smile. The soft orange glow dancing off of my palm in the same beautiful way my mary-jane did. I held it between my thumb and forefinger and inhaled in gently. Blowing the ashes off in the wind to reveal that ever shrinking smoldering coal...

Regardless, I don't intend on picking up another habit, but it made me really miss smoking joints.

I just wanted to see if anyone didn't know what I'm talking about.

Oh yeah. I was born in 65, soooo...I actually preferred job, jokers, and rizzlas to zig zags. Remember those "roach" papers? They had a wire in them so you could smoke the whole roach without touching it. Also some dark purple grape papers, strawberry and other flavors. Then there was the flavor drops and so on. Now glass is so common cheap and good there's no reason for paper.

Yeah, Randy's.  I fucking hated these things, they never seemed to burn right.  I love smoking joints, was a zig zag fan myself before switching over to raw.  Also stopped handrolling and started using a basic machine, much more convenient and faster plus it makes rolling with a tip much easier.  Ill pump out a couple joints and then smoke on them through the night.  They were a big help in me quitting nicotine for good.  Bong hits are nice, but sometimes you just want to smoke on something for more than 5 seconds and joints do that for me.  Less intense of a high, but a more satisfying smoking experience.

Ya down with OCB, oh yeah that's me!
Those roach papers did run a lot! I had one of those old camel rolling machines a long time ago that had a handle and would self roll basically.

It worked pretty good once you got the hang of it, and could roll fat or as skinny as you liked. Kids don't know about these, well, maybe some hipsters.

Yeah T Rex, I smoked cloves as much as I could when I was 13 lol.  Those mofos were tasty.  I remember one time getting some big weird homeless dude to buy me n my buddy a pack of Djarum vanilla and we smoked em behind the mall and it was really fucking awkward

When I was in slc I smoked bidis like crazy, they seemed popular out there.. Those are those lil Indian ciggies handrolled in a tobacco leaf.  Those were actually really tasty from what I remember.

Only have smoked 2 cigarettes in the past year tho and wanna try and stay away from them for good.  The last handful of years smoking were not enjoyable at all.  Nice trees :highfive:

yeah, that's the style i use now.  It rolls perfect cigarette sized joints and the little packet of crutches are amazing as tips.  I still think everyone should learn to handroll, but the machines are just so much nicer.

https://www.amazon.com/70mm-Metal-Cigarette-Roller-Storage/dp/B004LHCPPG

when i was in high school i had one of these and it worked ok.  You'd open it up, toss your herb in the roller fabric, slide a paper in and lick the glue, close the lid and the joint would pop out perfectly rolled (most times) on top.  It doubled as a carrying case too, but i think the machine i use now is much better.

I always carried a rolling machine in my pocket.

Its called a dollar bill!

I very rarely successfully hand rolled a joint. And I was never patient enough to sit down and figure it out, so I always whipped out my wallet and pulled out a bill to help out. My friends always preferred my joints though, so apparently I was doing okay at it.

Sometimes I'd trade my rolling machine for an Arizona Green Tea to alleviate the cotton mouth.
Those teas are the fucking bomb when youre stoned. Just wish they weren't so sweet sometimes.

Love the arizonas too. I learned to roll when I was 13yo. Better rethink that dollar bill, they're covered in germs mate.:smirk: I NEVER use them for cocaine, only fresh straws.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/this-is-exactly-how-often-cocaine-and-feces-show-up-on-your-dollar-bills-2017-07-11
Hard currency is literally crawling with crap -- as in, actual fecal matter, bacteria, pet DNA, and even cocaine -- according to several studies that will make you go cashless if you havenโ€™t already.

The latest report swabbed $1 bills circulating around New York City, and found more than 100 different strains of bacteria from our skin and our mouths on the dirty dollars.

So what makes this money so gross? Well, our cash is made from a blend of cotton and linen, and these fibrous crevices are great places for bacteria to grow. Paper-based money can transfer live flu viruses for up to 17 days, and we rarely think to wash our hands before or after handling money. Thatโ€™s one reason why countries like Canada and the U.K. switched to plastic-based banknotes in 2013 and 2016, respectively: They carry less bacteria, and you can wipe them clean.
