Panaeolus Cinctulus?
    #26901586 - 08/27/20 03:49 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Found a field full of these (peak district UK) and hoping they're all pan. cinctulus. It's my first time finding, so I just want to ensure I'm not taking any risks. Naturally there is a lot of variety amongst the ones I've found and maybe a lookalike could have crept in somewhere. In general, are there any other panaeolus looking mushrooms with black gills that are important to be watch out for?

Thanks for any help!

yes although gills can be dark it does not mean spores will be BLACK they may be very very dark brown as in teh case of pan foes.  there are i have recently learned several active var of pans that are more or less identical macroscopically but have the BLACK spores aswell. and live on well fertilized lawn aswell as manure.

let us know how it goes!

Those are lawn panaeolus.  They should print black.
