Spores dropped on my casing layer. Second Flush? What to do?

The subject says it all but... I have been fairly successful with my monotubs despite only doing multi-spore. The flushes don't exactly come in evenly so I pick them when they are mature. It seems like half of my first flush all opened and dropped spores overnight. What should i do with the half of the casing layer that is spore covered. I never dunk or water for a second flush, but should i wash the tub off to remove spores or should i scrape off the casing and reapply? Do nothing? What's my move here?

Never case past the first flush. The spores will be fine. You should always bottom water or dunk after the first flush

It seems like my first flush and second flush are kinda staggered. Basically once the mushrooms stop fruiting and the substrate has pulled the liner back from the side of the tub, I remove the liner and dunk. This was I can toss the liner let the sides pin because they have enough space.
I used to bottom water after what i thought was the first flush, but think i'd water too much and it would get gross.
So I'm really going to get new pins through all this spored up casing?

Maybe. Its hard to say. I have noticed a shitty second flush if the substrate gets saturated with spores. Ive only worked with penis varieties for the last few years, and when i wasnt i only let it happen a couple times. So i don't know if it was the spores or the conditions or the genes.

Because they are consistently potent and fat and im a sucker for a nice dense, sliced mushroom in my meals

Also their spore dropping mechanism seems to be broken.

I'd considered them for the same reasons. I guess you can't get spore prints from them though?

No, they have to be swabbed. A few sponsors sell syringes because they can seperate the spores from the cap in a centrifuge

Update. I see new hyphal knots appearing pretty much equally between the spored on and non-spored on parts of the surface. Fingers crossed for a good second flush!

For spores to cause problems you’d have to have way more mushrooms and let them totally coat the surface til it’s black.

second flush is looking thicker than the first and doesnt seem to care about spores.

You're doing fine man. You really don't need a casing with cubes but it'll help prepare you for the panaeolus strains.
