Pretty much this. Watching any pattern in nature or on a screen is inspirational as well. I haven't watched any "trippy visuals" on mushrooms yet but I wanna see what happens to them.

The two things I enjoy watching the most while on mushrooms would be music, and my mind.
But also things like....
The stars/night sky
Clouds
Gazing into the flame of a candle
Gazing into a camp fire
Trees
Sunsets
Flowers
Ants/insects
Pine cones
Squirrels
Trees moving in the wind
The surface of water
The ocean/waves crashing
Soil
My reflection
My shadow
Bark
Leaves
Grass
Paintings/Art
Birds
Most of the time on mushrooms I'm going inward and don't have much interest in watching much of anything outside of my own mind....but I can get into some deep observations & super deep thoughts from watching those sorts of things I listed while on mushrooms.
Last time I ate mushrooms while backpacking in the Sierra Nevada I was watching an ant hill/colony for what felt like forever...Super duper interesting/thought provoking stuff.
I have little interest in starring at a TV screen while tripping. It does nothing for me and feels like a huge distraction most of the time.

The wall....like an actual wall... lemme explain. The first time I took mushrooms as an adult, where I could appreciate the trip and not just be fucked up, went to take a piss but had to sit down because I was really off balance. Well I was looking at the wall in front of me and say the most gorgeous chrysanthemum/fractal. Ever since that night I always watch the bathroom wall and enjoy that exact same chrysanthemum every time, and each time its a different color. Sometimes its green and pink. Sometimes its blue and orange but its always awesome.
Sorry that was long winded haha

Static on the television. The effect isn't as good for me on mushrooms as it is lsd but I see all sorts of geometric shapes moving around.

I know this exact chrysanthemum pattern you speak of! I see it on LSD too with closed eyes. I have seen it overlay darkness outside when tripping at night in the mountains. It seems more sharp and linear when on LSD. I also see iridescent flashing colors on it. I see dark purples and greens and blues a lot later in the trip, but in the middle there are more colors. It's web like. There's an old 60's or 70's poster that was really close to the pattern. It's like some of these: https://www.google.com/search?q=60%27s+70%27s+optical+illusion+web+like+pattern+art&rlz=1C1NHXL_enUS728US728&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwin5eTUu7vrAhVGHs0KHXWgBv4Q_AUoAXoECA4QAw&biw=1366&bih=625

Kill Bill 1 & 2.
J/k, though it did happen.
I enjoy darkness, when I can't tell if my eyes are open or closed, visuals remain on a black canvas.

What lies behind closed eye lids.
Watching wild nature - stars, trees, clouds is the next best.

My ability to concentrate on media, aside from music is really dose dependent. At 3.5 I lose all interest in the world and I usually lay back and enjoy the visuals.
I have watched Dr. Who during the comedowns but that's about it. I was with a few friends and they were watching Rick and Morty, I had opened my eyes for one second to see Rick balloning out of the screen and was nose to nose. I said f that and closed my eyes to watch this crytal fountain flowing in front of me.

I generally tend to stick to scifi movies and animation. I watched Dr. Strange on 35 grams of fresh penis envy and was floored. I tend to just switch to EDM videos with visualizers on YouTube for my peaks and high dose journeys.

Of course nature or eyes closed, but I just want to give a hand in support of this comment. Tryptamines go well with Pixar and Disney...its something about the inocence of the plots and the vibrancy of the drawings and animation. Its unreal! oh, and also South Park

Yes! It's those underlying lessons and moral things etc... I of course love a great campfire and a mate and maybe some friends. A starry clear night when it's in the high 60's is pretty awesome.
