They’re also hollow. Kind threw me off when I first found that type.

Someone here once said to toss stem butts for caerulescens in a good habitat. Thank you to whoever said that, because a year later it paid off big time.
Anyways, if it’s feasible, should I give pins some water from time to time? Just to make sure they don’t dry out.

Watering spots is typically not a bad idea. Just don’t drown them.

I usually say something along the lines of "Hey I think we're looking for the same thing. Well... good luck." And then I walk a different direction.

You’re just gonna get this from me:

Then paranoia is going to set in and I’m gonna dip lol. I have never ran into anyone looking but last year I saw some guys at a school with flashlights looking at the ground in what looked like a good spot.

I’ve spotted a couple people that seemed to have as much interest walking and staring at the ground as me. Definitely wondered if they were doing the same thing I was.

Ive never ran into anyone at my spots. Except a few kids trying to make dirt ramps. Thought they were in trouble at first, because I was wearing one of those high visible shirts for construction sites. Just told them to have fun and not kill themselves out there.

Excellent finds!!! Phish with the 15 minute haul at a new spot. Impressive!
I have a feeling this thread is gonna rival some of the best by the time this season is over.

Nice! Can’t wait to go check my spot after work. In y’alls experience. Let’s say with plenty of rain like we’ve had lately. How long does it take for a spot to flush after the previous flush? I checked my spot a couple days ago and found a couple small nearly expired guys. Wondering if it’s too soon to check again.

I haven’t been searching much lately because I had considered this off-season, but seeing all of your posts made me curious so I went out to hunt on Saturday. I searched most of my spots and a few new ones and found tons of fungus, a large patch of gymns, but no weilii. I’m a little surprised by that, and now seeing all of your posts has me thinking that I might be sharing some spots with one of you, although I wont say who. I don’t mind either way, there should be enough to go around.
Something I want to bring up though, I had always noticed that this species needed a day or two to dry out after heavy rains before significant fruiting. Has anyone else had this observation? I mean, it is clear from this forum that they fruit in the rain, but in years past when I would watch the same patches for several seasons I noticed that they wouldn’t appear too soon after rain. They seemed to need a day or two after the rain stopped.
Still, I’m surprised I didn’t find anything Saturday. It isn’t peak season yet but my patches were pretty productive in June. Perhaps they need time to recover after recent flushes, or maybe I’m right and they need time to dry out a bit after heavy rain. Perhaps I was just late and someone else had claimed them, although I saw no signs of spore drops. My intuition told me they wouldn’t be there but this forum had me expecting to find them.
