NSW - Cacti Id Please

Hi everyone,
My mate has just moved into a new house and in his front yard is a huge Cacti. It looks too thin to be a San Pedro but will leave it to the experts to help identify it.

I've just started getting into cacti myself but that does not look like San Pedro or any other mescaline containing cactus. Might be Peruvian apple or something similar.
The ribs are a lot fatter on san pedro, bolivian torch and peruvian torch. And i believe they rarely branch out arms.
I'm no expert though.

Thank you very much Tripliping, I just checked out Peruvian Apple Cacti and I believe that you may be right. It does have thin ribs and no actual spikes.

Look into Cereus sp. I fell for the same variety when i started looking into them. On the plus side if it fruits you can eat it, apparently they aren't too bad.

Thank you everyone .. I agree with your naming.
It would have been nice to move into a new place with a fully populated San Pedro growing in your back year.

If you want to grow some yourself Urban Tribes in NSW is a good private nursery to buy from. Might not be too far away depending where you are situated.

Hi Tripliping,
Actually i bought one from them just over a week ago now. I took a few days off and asked that they delay shipping till Tuesday just in case it gets delivered whilst Im away and someone gets their hands on it.
Ive had no luck this winter finding some shrooms to put to agar and so I thought I would put some energy into the old San Pedro.

Nurseries that accidentally let cactus root inside a greenhouse are a great place to score great plants. If they want it gone, it might only be a few hundred dollars for a big cactus since there is simply no one else that will buy it.
Bring a big hand saw / chainsaw, animal handling gloves, and safety goggles, and a truck or trailer. This is how I scored a several year old Myrtillocactus. Badass stock.
