History of Golden Teacher and B+?

I’ve seen a few people around the internet talking about how GTs and B+ are only a few decades old, and I find that very interesting. Were these varieties bred in a lab somewhere, or were they just discovered in the wild very recently? If anyone has any info or anywhere I can read more, I’d love to hear it!

I think what they mean when they say that a variety is new or recent is that its newly domesticated. Cubensis is found in the wild, and we call it something like Koh Samui, where it was found. Its all cubensis and wild fruits dont really vary in essence. Now, people around here grow something called KSSS, which stands for Koh Samui Super Strain. Its supposed to grow real big but its just cubensis. After a while of hard work and a process of cloning, printing, colonizing, fruiting, cloning, printing, and so on and so forth.... A phenotype has been bred, with some degree of consistency, differently from its original and then it is a variety. B+ and Golden Teacher are both names for a phenotypic variety of cubensis. Other things besides phenotype vary between varieties but for the most part they're the same.

They were probably made in a crusty apartment. With how much they've been traded and mislabeled they're just cubes

I made RW in a nasty ass basement. I wonder if Gee had a nice lab or just a half assed workspace? I’m sure PF was like the cat lady of cube growers. Mr.G sounds like an alcoholic hoarder if you read his old posts. His rants on B+ here are cringe gold.

I loved to do clone face offs when I was developing the RW. Each generation was headed by the winner of a best of three clones. Though I still haven’t found the equal to the grandfather of the line. My original F2 clone was simply killer. But I believe those genetics are still out there, I will find his like again.

Shit works out weird like that sometimes. I got lucky but I also had to work really hard to get lucky as well. Then work super hard to make it into something, not just the next PE6 There were times I almost gave up hope.

Kind of funny to look at the old thread, im not gonna lie. Now I see all these people giving me advice and its nice to see that you guys knew nothing once too rofl.

Yep. Nice little community here. We're all still learning. I hope to be here when we figure out what the fuck causes different trips.
But I think we're getting off topic for this poor gentleman looking for more information on B+ and GT's lol

He should read this link. It’s pretty accurate from what I can tell. Maybe the PE section is a bit outdated.
