Would anyone be willing to go hunting with me? I'm in DeKalb county but willing to travel. My goal isn't to come and ravage your spots without you but to gain experience and hopefully confidence in positively id'ing the  woowoo elusive weilii.
Me? I'm not a dude, have been interested in mycology for a few years and enjoy all aspects of the mushcult hobby. As far as hunting goes I'm interested in learning about everything, not just actives. I do think it's really cool that ga has its own active so fuck yeah, I need to find it.  There's just so many lbm's out there though that I need a more experienced guide to show me the ropes.

Looking for some advice and insight!

I just walked 4 miles, 2 in 2 out, on this sewer line trail for a ~8 year old subdivision in cherokee.

Found absolutely nothing but a lot of the terrain fits the bill... are these things even worth checking in the future?

I was thorough on this. I mean Im completely drenched, muddy, scratched up, and probably got poison ivy hahaha

I am confident had there been anything here I would have found it. Should I ever check this place again? Feeling more lost than ever

thanks for any info and all the help!

That pic makes me miss the weilii hunt. Keep finding spots like that, and you'll find them eventually. Weilii are frustrating because they don't always pop up, even in seemingly ideal habitats, and even when tons of Lacrymaria are in the area. Absolutely worth keeping an eye on that spot though.

Nice dog too. Border collie?

Just because your in an area that looks like others that doesn’t mean your automatically going to find them there. You just have to keep looking and find The right place

Basically same patch from yesterday

New patch who dis?

^These were found on other side of tree line of the single weilii I posted yesterday. Left a lot of pins to do their thing. Couldn't capture a pic of all of them back there because it's such a high traffic area unfortunately.

went out today found a couple lbm's but nothing blueing but some had the nipple and a coulpe of those even looked like they had that chalky stem till i came home and examined them, i am seeing hella turtles though, which makes me glad cause i often worry about species' going extinct and animal habitats getting built into neighborhoods i figure turtles are pretty high up on the "not fast enough to cross the street list" so its relieving to see them so often.

Found a couple little dudes today at the end of their life in the same grassy spot I found my first last week. Still on the hunt though!

I ran a photo of Psilocybe caerulescens through a mushroom identification app on my iPhone and I was pretty impressed it got the answer correct. I don’t think I will use it much cause I feel like it’s not a good way to learn but still pretty cool.

Edit: I ran many more mushrooms through the app and all where correct. I don’t like it. I feel like I am cheating. Lol

What’s the app called?  Interested to try it, but like you said, won’t use it too much.  Lol
