La Nina - bring the rain!

Here in Oz the weather shift has spun about and we're heading for a summer La Nina event now. After years of friggin hot and dry it'll be hotter and wet. Very, very wet up here in the tropics. Last time it rained for about 7 months and in the middle of that we had a cat 5 storm that dumped a couple of metres of rain on us. My local government has started clearing up already, they know how sudden it can come on and once everything is soggy there's nothing much we can do. I'm gonna paint my house soon, while I still can. Extra seal any wood ready for the big wet. Our dams and lakes are going to get topped up right to the brim as well. Great stuff.
Ah I love the rain. Warm and misty, but cool in the breeze and keeps the mozzies and tourists away. Happy days.
Here where I am it can get bloody wet. An average year will give us 4m of rain, but a wet one can gift us with 6m or more. There's even been years with 8m historically, I haven't seen one of those. For those of you who haven't progressed to metric yet, that's over 26ft of rain in a year.
If you asked old Mick up the pub how much that is, he'd say "That's shitloads mate".

Are you guys even allowed to go outside anymore? Are you allowed to enjoy the fresh air without a muzzle on?

Lol... I live in the bush. Don't deal with the city slickers and their nonsense. Makes for good international sniggering though no doubt.

That'll set you back between 10 and $300k, depending where exactly it is and what services it has. My block cost $70k for a few acres. Nice spot 5 minutes to town with all services, borders on rainforest and mountain and is closish to the beach. There was a 125 acre rainforest block going pretty close for $200k. No services though. I was still pretty tempted. Magic spot.

Glad to hear you're away from the mass insanity, wise.
