Unless another massive wave hits, the stores are now stable. At least here in Dallas anyway.

Things have more or less stabilized. Masks are required. I honestly am so distracting by running away from old people to try and maintain social distance that I forget to get half of what I go in for - and things haven't stabilized completely so there's always a risk of not getting what you ordered with pickup or delivery.
I might look into an instant pot, Gopher. What model do you have? Do you have a sous vide setting? I just started buying plain greek yogurt, but it would be nice to make my own and I've been looking for an excuse to get an instant pot.

no sous vide on mine, I got the 8 quart duo from amazon https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01B1VC13K/ref=twister_B07FMS9SDV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 it was on sale in december/janurary for like $80 so I pulled the trigger, the yogurt function really sold me, I didnt know anything about them when I bought it, I dont really use it to cook dinner a lot, but I love making bone broth to break my fasts and making yogurt for fun, I just throw my bones in it, add carrot, onion, celery, bayleaf,ACV and salts 10 cups of water and cook for 3 hours, and I get a broth that would have took all day on the stove, I can cook rice in 13 minutes and dont have to worry about it boiling over, rice is 3 minuts pressure cook 10 minutes natural release 1:1 water/rice, I panic bought a bunch of dried beans in march, you can cook them from dry in a pressure cooker, 30 minutes pressure 30 minutes natural release

oh yeah, I just got the mealthy crisplid too, it fits 6 and 8 quart pressure cookers, Ive only used it twice but Im glad I got it, I made sweet potato fries and fried chicken with it so far, it voids your warrenty but I think its a better product then the official instant pot air fryer lid, I just worry that it makes the pot too hot, it took forever to get cool enough to clean

That is a little more money than I'd like to spend right meow, but I have had a ninja blender for like 8 years now and that is awesome and probably going to outlive me, so I'm definitely bookmarking it.

What's your favourite spices? You need some flavouring for all that rice. Mine, just now, is a spoonful of lime pickle mixed in with a chopped up hard boiled egg.
I love some PC'd split peas with fenugreek and cumin seed.

I'm restocking my freezer to full capacity, 25 lbs of oatmeal will be dumped in the oatmeal vat, rice, lentils, quinoa, freezedried veggie mix and egg powder are stocked to capacity, got my tomato concentrate, tuna, instant mashed potato, unsweetened applesauce portions, sugarfree cough lozenges, acetaminophen, my oils and butters.. BRING ON THE SECOND WAVE.

The Second Wave, brought to you courtesy of ICU Code Black, Mass Graves, Its Not Going To Be So Bad Asante but with 90% extra Fuck You It Will Be
Society will go on.
There will be electricity, water and gas.
Stores will for the most part be supplied but it will not be advisable to visit them.
Its going to be an "interesting TV" fall, a "holy shit I never thought it would be anything like THIS" fall, an "Emergency Lockdown" fall, "Biohazard Suit" fall and an "I hope I nor my loved ones will fall" fall.
Be prepared.
COVID season, very obviously, is the wet and cold season.
COVID only became a BIG pandemic in spring 2020.
That means that the first true "COVID season" is probably now to come, the time when Covid, flu, common cold and pneumonia all tend to flare up.
And this time its not just in Wuhan, EVERY city is Wuhan because COVID is omnipresent now.
Think New York.

I still probaly got about 2 months of food stocked, I only used about 1kg of rice and 1kg of beans,so I have many kg left and maybe 28 cans of veggies, a few cans of spam and 10 cans of tuna of my supply from the first panic buy, I got a few packs of just add water pancake mix and a lot of bags of oat meal, I could either have pancakes/oatmeal at noon and rice and beans and half a can of veggies for dinner, low in vitamin C, might cause scurvy if I had to eat it every day for 2 months, but I have a dozen pine trees in my back yard so I could get my C from that, I dont know what other nutrients would be missing
oh yeah something I didnt have in the first panic buy, 50 laying hens in my back yard and 50 roosters in my freezer

I'm still working on eating through my covid stash that I bought back at the beginning of this whole thing. I finally cleared out all the stuff I had in the freezer.
I'm done with the stocking up covid stash thing.

yeah I might just try to buy my groceries like 3 or 4 weeks at a time, instead of buying months worth of food, semi-stash

I didn't over react and dash. If food really came hard to come by, I would just catch, kill, clean and cook my own. I can even turn saltwater into fresh water.
