Does drying mushrooms in the refrigerator work?

I just harvested my first flush of b+ and gt. I don't own a dehydrator so I came across this article (see screen shot) saying that they best way to dry mushrooms in a refrigerator.
Has anyone tried this? Does it work? I happen to have an extra refrigerator so this would work out great for me of it works. Thanks!

I doubt it.
If the best way was in the in fridge that’s how we’d do it. I’ve never heard of this before but I’ve definitely had some oysters go dry in my fridge.
I’d rather leave them out or use the oven or fans myself. Unless you’re in a very humid climate.

Yea I live in southeast US. RH is currently around 60% or so. I've had them in a cardboard box with a fan blowing into it for nearly 2 days and they still pretty suple, slightly leathery.
Im afraid of destroying the potency by using the oven.

The oven would lock in the potency. Slowly drying them will do the opposite

Last time I've put one of these thermometers that measured humidity as well into the fridge, it hit 90%. Note that the page says it has to be a frost-free fridge. Do your own measurements before blindly trusting it or better, invest into a dehydrator.

Sometimes I forget about a tray in my dehydrator and the dried fruit will sit in there at ~130f for an extra day. It's never reduced potency. Nothing under 300f will. 👍🏽
You want them dry as fast as possible to preserve the actives.

Sounds kinda sketchy. I've spent hundreds of hours scouring here and other forums while learning and I can't recall seeing that or considering it as an option.
I'd be inclined to stick to what others have successfully used in the past and documented consistently.
A dehydrator is pretty cheap and easy to get in most places, and you may even have a super cheap one sitting in a nearby Goodwill or Salvation Army store.
I'm in warm/humid zone and my old ass DAK dehydrator I bought long ago is awesome and still chugging along. Glad I sprung for the extra trays when I first bought it over 20 years ago...lol
Quite a few of the new Air Fryer/Convection Ovens are sporting a "dehydrate" feature, and I've been doing a lot of small meal cooking during the rona and have been tempted to try one out. I'm curious if anyone has tried and commented on their efficacy.
Good luck!

Never heard of it. Plus if it worked then the fruits and veggies i put in the fridge would just dry out instead of eventually mold or rot.

*Update* I put half in the refrigerator and half in a cardboard box with a fan blowing into it. The ones in the box were a lot dyer than those in the refrigerator.
Im going to buy a dehydrator today. Thanks for all the replies.
