Pressure cooked Maybe too long
    #26894759 - 08/23/20 04:32 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Hello! I used my new presto 23 quart pressure cooker last night. I didnt read the instructions like the idiot i am.

The results was that it took like an hour Before I Got the pressure to start building up and after 30 mins more it was at 15 psi. I still PC'ed them for 90 mins.

My question is if i need to toss them or ære they okay since it took so long for me to figure out how to use it properly?

As long as they were at pressure for 90 minutes they're fine.  Provided grain prep and everything else was done properly of course.

Only if you used too much water to begin with, by not letting them steam dry or whatever (depending on your method of prep).

You should be able to visually see if they turned into mush easily.  Overcooking will not turn them into contamination, only bad technique will do that.

Okay, i put them Into 8 strainers and tossed them around Every 10 mins for 2 hours, so looked Pretty dry, so I Think its okay. Okay gonna prep the room and Everything soon, so we will see. Think bleach, soap and water is a good combo for cleaning Every inch of the room?

Be certain to vent your PC  for 8-10 minutes before putting the weight on.

You don`t need to overdo it with chemicals.
The crucial steps you`ll do in a sab, that`s you want to concentrate on.
Of course a clean house is always fine
