Thoughts about rhizomorphic patterns
    #26894732 - 08/23/20 03:38 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Hello Myco People
this is my first post on this blog. (very exciting

I was cultivating a clone from a fruit I cloned out of a GT batch
I cloned it into 4 petri plates and noticed that even though it was cloned from a single mushroom, there was still some difference between the mycelium patterns in each plate. I finally selected a plate that had a strong rhizomorphic pattern, then I have isolated another plate from that plate, and the pattern has become more "subtle" - showing some rhizomorphic behaviour in the center perimeter of the plate, but more "cotton-ish" at the exterior. I have since continued into inoculating spawn jars with this mycelium - and Lo and behold ! the rhizomorphic pattern returned in the jars.

What is the meaning of all of that ? is it possible to obtain more than one solid "strain" from a cloned fruit ? can mycelium pattern change their behaviour between different substrates / spawns ?

I would love to read some ideas about that from your experience

Yeah even clones have a ton of strains. Mushrooms are just super weird.
