These grains came out of my pressure cooker maybe they weren't dry enough when I put them in? Maybe there was condensation on the grains maybe I boiled them 10 minutes to long. Either way should I be using them or will they contaminate.

Also I've got these others grows going they seem pretty good to me anyone think there is any contaims

Look far too moist. Only one jar, I wouldn't waste time on it.

Looks like bunch of the burst grains turned into mush. More than likely hydrated them too long. Hopefully you kept notes on your grain prep process so you can shorten the time next go round.

Ah thought that was the case. I got stuck talking to my house mate and 30 mins turned into an hour. I might run an experiment and see what happens to burst grains. I've got more then enough clean myselium on agar
Thanks guys!

I can tell you what's going to happen. The starch will make the grains clump together and the sitting water will grow lots of bacteria and the bottom of that jar will stall and never get colonized because its been taken over by bacteria. If you spawn it the bacteria will let mold in.
I would dump it before i inoculate it

The second picture of the jars, the small jar looks suspicious 🤔

The one on the far right also looks suspect. Closer pics would help

Far right
 Little one of left

What makes you say they're suspect. The jar on the far right and second from the left I thought were the best?
Wish I saw the message about dumping the burst grain bit earlier I inoculated them. If you were to dump the bottom of the grain how would you do so keep everything sterile?
Thanks heaps

I wouldnt. I threw out 12 grain jars that probably would have fruited, they were just slightly too bacterial for me to be comfortable with. Up close pictures of all of them wouldn't hurt.
Those 2 look sketchy because of how thin and weak it looks. They might still be worth a spawn if they still smell fine

Ah yep I see what you mean. I'll definitely give them a smell before I put them to spawn. Just the mold smell I'm lookin for? Here is some close up pics in no particular order

Really just any smell that doesnt smell like fresh mushrooms. Musty, sour, sweet, old sweaty socks smell, etc. Sometimes it's obvious and overwhelming and other times it's very subtle

In pic 1 and 4 there seems to be a clear border from myc to uncolonized grains, so there seems to be another competitor. 6 is a bit thin and weak. 3 looks best to me.
Take a smell before you shake them up, afterwards you`ll just smell mushrooms.

They all recovered. Bruised a bit blue but recovered will give them a sniff test.
Also found a crack at the bottom of 2 of my Jars so think a bit of water got in there. New Jars didn't fit the same way in my pressure cooker. I put a bit of micropore tape over the crack in the bottom. inoculated will see how it goes cause why not

Any time you have half good looking jars half suspect jars, you can just make a mini shoebox/tubaware experiment with the good healthy grains. just spoon them out and spawn them with some coir. you got nothing to loose really anyways if they contam just throw it out who cares. getting a few small shrooms is better than nothing, they are cute as well
If you don't shake the jar and carefully spoon out the healthy guys just before the contam section is best.
Ive had it work heaps of times. Other times you just throw em in the bin, easy come easy go.
