2nd Monotub - How's it Looking?
    #26893536 - 08/22/20 12:45 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Just put this tub together 4 days ago, how's it looking so far? It was pooling a little bit of water on the sides which I got dabbed a bit with a paper towel and snagged a photo. I will adjust how much water I use with my sub moving forward, but any other feedback is welcome and appreciated.

Edit: also have a question...What % of colonization would you label this? I tried looking for pics of completely colonized sub's to find a reference and couldn't find any.

Thanks for your help!

That bin in fully colonized. Next time Make sure you cover those exposed grains with thin layer of coir. Leaving them exposed makes tub easier to contamination

Thanks for the feedback Mycobro.

Would you advise I apply a thin casing layer now or when I put the tub together?

Looks good man! Exactly what my tubs look like during colonization. And I’ve never worried about the spawn being on top or exposed personally. As long as it was fully colonized before you spawned it then it shouldn’t matter too awful much. When it comes to casings I’ve never found them necessary. I’ve ran identical tubs side by side with one cased and one not and they did exactly the same. Except harvest was messier with the cased mono obviously. Keep it up!

No the only cubes that really need a casing are pe.an sometimes mine do fine without it. I wouldn't case I would just cover the exposed grains with coir wen u spawn another tub

Also next time use a trash bag or plastic of some kind in your mono. It’s fine for the first flush but as it shrinks up it will pull away from the sides and you’ll get a mess of mushies trying to pin on all sides. Trust me you’ll thank yourself later if you do lol

Also with a liner it is an easy clean up for the next tub

Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys.

Happy to know things are on the right path. My first tub I micromanaged way too much, so I'm really trying not to fuck with it much as I feel this one is dialed a bit better...Going to increase FAE a little and hopefully Ill be rocking in a bout a week!
