1st attempt at agar

So I know that condensation on the lids is normal and also to have the plates flipped on their lid during colonization. My question is, is there any issues that come from too much water? This is my first go at agar and I found the syringes push more out than I was expecting on a few and have heavy condensation on the lid, this one was the worst and now I'm seeing green mold on this plate.

toss it dont even open it syringes suck ass with agar u really should use a printt and streak a few plates with a loop or sterile swab. syringes are almost always dirty to some degree same with prints thats cuz the spores themselves are not sterile and will contain whatever contams that are in the air/environment they were grown in. but prints are easier to work with and dont make a mess like like syringes do
really all u can do is try again

Yea ideally you want to just use one drop.
But I know some syringes develop a little pressure seal and it makes it seem impossible to get out anything but a squirt.
There are some techniques to deal with this if you search a bit.
Doesn’t mean it’s the reason for the contam, but it definitely increases your chances for it.

I get the general consensus that syringes are often dirty, but syringes from reputable vendors are often consistent. I wouldn’t say they all suck ass, but I’d prefer prints too, though.
This was spore syringe squirt into a sterile petri > gather with inoculation loop > streak on agar plate.
I like doing streak plates with syringes instead of directly dropping the solution because of this exact problem of squirting too much.
