So I used to see 1:1 be the standard ratio everyone advised and now some people say other things. Why?

Title says it all. Why aren't we all doing 1:1 spawn/sub and why. (I still do 1:1 because its fast af).
Well?

Does it have something to do with some people's goals if one and done? If so I need dem ratios.

This is just speculation but I'd guess that it has to do with holding moisture.
Grain isn't that great at holding moisture compared to verm, coir or manure. A 1:2 ratio has more substrate to hold in moisture. I'm pretty sure that even with a 1:4 ratio there is more than enough nutes for the mushrooms and beyond that just depends on how much water they take in.

There ar no standards. It is best just to get to know the likes and dislikes of any specific culture. A cube is a cube is old hat and not a good slogan.
Just keep observing and adjusting. Some like it wet, some like it more dry, some do better on straw than coco and vise versa. Cultures that come from the same spore print might have wildly differing preferences or you might luck out with a "stable" culture that does the same thing every time no matter what. Personally I think monotony is boring and appreciate diversity and fungal adaptation skills.
