Also while pine/sweetgum aren't 100% necessary, I think your chances would be higher.
Killer, thanks for the response. There was a stretch of pine and sweetgum, like so many spikey balls it was like walking on marbles and fuckin nada! I thought for sure I was hitting that lottery lol

It is custom to do a separate ID Request for confirmation of mushrooms. Only post here when they're confirmed as actives. Those aren't caerulescens though.

Try hitting different places until you find them. Or at least that's usually my approach. Once you find them you want to keep looking for new spots anyways so you have multiple options.

Finally found a couple today at my best spot. Were not the prettiest but gives me hope. Should be a good weekend!

Sorry I’m new to this, where would be the appropriate place to get ID requests? I’m guessing these are non active from what you’ve stated.

They aren’t active. The main reason is so people don’t get confused thinking inactive/ potentially toxic mushrooms are active. Go to the main page of mushroom hunting and ID, and on that page where all the threads are click on make a post. Just look around on that page and you will see. You will make an entirely new ID thread. If you don’t mind delete the post from the GA actives thread so no one gets confused.

The thick grassy weeds are some brutal stuff to hunt in for sure. I’ve been getting lazy lately and avoiding those types of habitats, but your finds have given encouragement!!

All good mane! Not for me, but for others I guess. You will find some!!! Believe it! The stems on them are very thick, and take a lot of force to break. Also look for the white chalk/scales on them. Once you find one, you will see what I mean. They are super durable unlike most other mushies.

I really really appreciate it man! As far as habitat, what’s the best in your opinion. Been mostly checking off of trails in grassy pine needle covered areas.
