smells normal, haven't seen any noticeable contamination's yet!! substrate was fine not to wet....i have 8 other totes with the same substrate and they are doing fine,  ......just gunna pitch it tomorrow or the next day, kinda figured it was done just curious if someone else ran into same type of growth.

Just because it smells fine doesnt mean it's not slightly bacterial.. Unless you need the tub i would keep it around until it fruits

I never said it wasn't bacterial someone asked me how it smells in above comment so I answered. And no don't need the tub just don't have time for shit flushes. I'm not a hobbiest looking for anything he can get. If they don't show promising results they get throw outdoors, what comes of them outside then that's what ever.  I don't do second flushes either waist of time.

Is this not vert? The stipes splitting, like one side stops growing and the other does not

No not Lecanicillium fungicola. The way the stipes split with Lecanicillium is different, looks more like a banana peeling. Also I would expect to see grey caps, light fuzz over much of the fruits and little aborted “dry bubbles.”

Finally doing something again. I dont expect a lot of good tho
3 quarts of oats where shot with 10cc of LC last night.

the oats had been post PC about 10 days and the 30cc of LC was in syringe on a shelf for the same amount of time if not a few days longer. It looks super thick when I hit the jars. Might even see some recovery tonight if it isnt all fucky

I’m with you cam I hadn’t done shit for like a month until yesterday and today. I’m down to my last few fruiting tubs and I hate when I have nothing going on so I finally ran the pc and set up the SAB.

I cloned the one normal fruit from my ufo grows and it had a bunch of huge pins on the plate so I’m excited for that. Along with apeu, atl7, then tamp natalensis and playa uvita clones. Plus some kings and lions mane.

Can’t wait for the temperature drop, I’m gonna be well prepared for the window of perfect grow weather.

I have 5 bags to spawn this weekend but I gotta have tubs elsewhere so it wont be the same not getting to watch them

poured plates last night too, got some xfers to make this weekend with the Averys, might even drop a wedge to a jar as im doing it

then gourmets are due in Monday. Blue oyster and Black Popular.

lol I won’t see 83 for another 5-6 weeks probably. This heat wave is brutal it’s 110–115 for the last two weeks with lows in the high 80s.

Even the dogs don’t do shit but plop down on the tile.

Does anybody have enoki cultures?? I’m about to just give up and buy one but the mails so fucked and it’s so hot idk when I would get it or in what condition. I just saw a news story about post offices being full of rotting animals right now. Live chicks and stuff like that dying from the mail delays.

idk I still think I'd like it. I just imagine making it a family affair, getting the kids out to farmers markets on the weekends. developing relationships with restaurants and all that.

I havent really put much thought into how to do a small scale trial run to see if there is even a market around me. I dont have the space in our apartment, ideally we would have a house and plenty of room for some marthas

1st I gotta actually get good at producing them tho, only have 1 oyster attempt under my belt and I would wanna offer more variety then that anyways

heres my 1 attempt lol:

gotta do much better then this. this was fruited under some grated stairs at work

The guy who owns the building we work out of has offered to have a shipping container brought in for $250 a month. run electric to it and put man doors and a window in there for free.
I'm sure if I ran up the electric to much I would pry have to pay some of that as well
idk how I would manage the heat in that tho, we already have a few out back now but they are occupied:

be kinda neat to be at work and just dip out back to tend to the mush :mushroom2:

@Aka fuck that  :puke: thats brutal man, I couldn't do it. I'm jealous of how Pasty describes his climate up there

That would be pretty rad. Would probably need AC those things get hot as fuck.

An old user who was permabanned a few years ago converted one to a full on lab, had a shower, floor drain, deep sink, ventilation and a Flowhood

Finding places to sell edible mushrooms isnt very hard at all.

I sold shiitake and lions mane I grew out of a tiny green house at my house.
I just called a few small, vegetarian forward restaurants in and around downtown
and asked to speak to the head chef.

It only took 2 calls before I found a restaurant interested in a meetup.
I brought a couple 1/2lb samples and they were thrilled. I worked with them
for about 6 months before I moved to co.

They created a ceviche dish just to showcase the lions mane because they
really wanted some veg seafood dishes. I also sold them tinctures and what not.

If you wanna do it all it takes is growing mushrooms and putting yourself out there.
Farmers markets are dope too. Just dehydrate what you cant sell and make tinctures and sell those there too haha

lol I know right I just saw a pic yesterday of him running the heater in August.

Dude that container thing is perfect! If you keep the sun off it and get a little window ac it would be great. I run mine on high 24/7 and it adds about 22 dollars a month to the bill.

I bet it would cost maybe 5 bucks a month to maintain 65 in there.

Although I just realized I have no idea how expensive electricity is for you.

Solar panels! Fuck it off grid cult containers.

lol you guys are actually pretty motivating

I keep thinking of reasons why it wont work, not just the container, but in general as a route to take lol

Caps was super inspirational tbh seeing what he did

idk, definitely need more cult experience and to put the work in like you said Nate, might be a good time to really start to focus on a goal for this

I’m trying to get shit sorted so I can hit farmers markets in the fall myself. Unfortunately my fridge must suck cuz the king oysters dried the fuck out after two days in a paper bag in the fridge. I figured I’d have at least 5 days before they started to get too dry.

I know this is a few months old at this point, but I've had my past few tubs go bad using the block of Hydro Crunch from Amazon and the Bucket tek. 650g coir/2qts verm:4.5qts boiling water in a cooler that was preheated.

Stalled Bulk colonization ultimately leading to green mold.

Any one else having issue with this stuff?

I'm starting to get my shit together to try grain jars and all the cultivation sites I've checked in the vendor list are sold out of the polypropylene lids. In other threads they warn off cheap off brands, so is there something I should look for elsewhere to get the right kind of lid? I can't get the Canadian brand that's recommended by some. If I have to stick with modding the metal lids I will, but if I can just crack some plastic lids I'd rather keep things simple and do that.

Just make some metal lids. They also sell one piece metal lids that aren't bad, they don't warp like the plastic ones. The seal in them is cheap and irreplaceable though, so don't tighten them too much or you'll have to buy new seals
