No rebirth after dunking

I'm running 6qt tubs with garbage liners, mist and fan. Dunked a week ago, haven't seen any rebirth. I wasn't using a light and the first run came up decent (there is ambient light), some really big boys just not lots of them. I dunked in distilled for 24 hours.
1) Should I be using a 6500k 12/12? I've had a few other flushes in the past without using a direct light without a problem. 2) When done dunking I drained but still had my casing in there - should I be rinsing that right off and re-casing? Could it be too wet? I've read a bunch of stuff but would appreciate any current best practices.
I'm new, be gentle

first off a casing is a non nutritious top layer. your talking about your bulk substrate.
second while light is not as important as it is to plants it is def needed and yes a 12/12 schedule of a 6500k light source is perfect.
also birthing is a term used for taking pf cakes outta jars and thats it. there is no such thing as rebirth lol your talking about flushes that would be your second flush and not rebirth.
also without any pictures is hard to see what the problem may be. i hope the terminology helps but if u got pics post them and you will be able to get the answers needed

Thanks for the reply. Sorry my terminology is a bit off but hopefully it was understood, still learning the lingo!
I understand the casing is a non nutritious top layer. I dunked everything, bulk and casing. I thought perhaps the casing retained too much water and was too heavy preventing pinning which is why I was asking about recasing.
I will work on pictures however in short it's 6qt tub, lined with bag, bulk covered by casing. It was drained. Still misting and fanning (working on a zombie setup). I cut the first flush as my last run was twist and pull, although I had a 2nd and partial 3rd flush it seems it's advised you cut. You can see the tops of where I cut the mushrooms through the casing in several areas.

my bad i mis read where u said rinse off the casing😃 but no dont do that just give it some air and let that evaporation trigger more pins. evap is the biggest pinning trigger there is next to having clean spawn a properly prepared substrate and well kept environmental and surface conditions of coarse. but without seeing pics all i can say is give it air so its not totally water logged and see if that helps. but also you say you have already had several flushes. since its only a 6qt shoebox maybe its just givin u all its going to give🤷🏼 but just give it some air and keep the proper conditions and see what happens over the next few days but try to get pics up cuz this is all guess work without seeing it

I had several flushes in the past with other grows. In this case I had a first flush, dunked, now nothing. I'll leave the lids off for awhile I think that's good advice! I hate flying blind too a picture could better articulate anything I write. I'll work on getting them up

24 hours is a very long time to dunk a shoe box or any bulk sub really. Especially with a smaller first flush you may not even need to dunk. I do 2 to 4 hours. It may be waterlogged and maybe just needs to sit for a while.
