Mary Kate Olsen, B Spears, Patty Duke, J. Beiber, Macaulay Culkin, and Drew Barrymore—struggled with drugs and alcohol. Rusty Hamer of The Danny Thomas Show committed suicide. Danny Bonaduce of The Partridge Family was arrested for assault. Diff'rent Strokes actor Todd Bridges, who battled crack cocaine addiction for several years, was tried for the attempted murder of a drug dealer (he was acquitted). And Lindsay Lohan has been arrested twice for DUI. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-the-trenches/201106/the-child-performer

Here's some science. This is focusing on stardom, in general. Can't imagine being a child and going through phys/mental development, growing up in addition to everything being described. https://www.saybrook.edu/unbound/fame-is-a-dangerous-drug/

That's a different issue, though, isn't it? I personally know at least a dozen adults who were child actors. None of them are particularly crazy or fucked up. Highly successful actors of all age are more likely to be fucked up, sure. The same is true of musicians. Extreme fame appears to be bad for anyone.

I’ve often wondered why only child actors seem to battle those issues or have those legal problems.

That's simply not true, though. Adult actors go through the same shit. It's just that an adult is more equipped to handle it than a child.

Oh my god, are you starting to get somewhere with this????????? Children arent as well equipped to deal with the stress of public life? Would you say being put in a sexual light on an interneational stage is even more difficult and comes with even more psychological baggage and societal burden? This is some revolutionary shit bro holy crap we are redefining psychology rn!!!!!!!!

So, your problem is with child actors generally and not this movie.

A line should be drawn. I draw it at child stripping. I think it's a pretty reasonable one.

There is no child stripping in this movie. I doubt you even watched it, TBH. The movie is 90% shitty dialogue, 5% shitty dancing, and 5% standard French cinema self-indugence. There's 0% child stripping in the movie.

Lmao I think YOU definitely didnt watch the movie bro lmao. I dont know how you define stripping but it fit my definition pretty well. Exactly the type of shit you would see at no-nudity strip clubs, just with children. Fit with water spraying on shirts and everything.
It's the 5% of the movie that I have a problem with. I dont think it needs to be the majority of the movie for it to be wrong... Stupid point.

I think you saw a few scenes, found yourself aroused and ashamed for being aroused, so you determined the movie must be evil. I saw the same dance scenes you claimed to have seen, but I saw little girls awkwardly trying to mimic adult dancing. It wasn't sexual. If anything, it made me cringe because these poor girls were so bad at it. I give the filmmaker the benefit of the doubt that this was the intention, but it might have been the best they could do.

Bizarre take. Pretty unnecessary to insinuate that Im literally a pedophile because I dont think it's good to dress kids up erotically to mimic adult dances. Cant u just like disagree with me lmao

The sexualization of child actors, isn't that what we're talking about? Is this more relevant for you?
Quote:
The sexualization of young girls is an ongoing problem in America that’s leading to a myriad of problems, from exposing girls to societal pressures to perpetuating sexualized violence. Sexualization is negatively impacting many girls’ cognitive functioning as well as their physical and mental health.1
The sexualization of young girls occurs when individuals or when a society explicitly or implicitly demonstrates that a girl's value comes only from her sexual appeal or behavior, to the exclusion of other characteristics, or when she is sexually objectified, or when sexuality is inappropriately imposed upon her.2
https://www.verywellmind.com/damaging-effects-of-sexualizing-girls-4778062
Throughout watching Cuties, I immediately saw the relation the film-makers were shoving down our throat- that fundamental religion is just as oppressive as dressing like a whore and twerking. I knew there would be a happy ending, and truly kept an open mind.
Why was the 'lesson' portion of the film only the last 5 min, with an hour and half of skanky 11 yr olds spreading leg. Wow, so wonderful that the film has a positive message, but that is moot. A prominent lesson does not outweigh the disgust of content.
Why would they make a movie about how sexualization of kids is bad, by sexualizing them.. Like killing a cat on camera to prove animal cruelty is bad.
Not to mention, the way it was filmed.. was unnecessary(and gross). This might not of been half as bad if it was at normal eye level instead of being transfixed on their crotches and behinds.
Loving the cop outs- this is a far left smear campaign, you're a pedo if you care, you just don't get it, it's actually a good message, etc. Don't let these words above divert your passion. They are meant to shut you down. Anyone who thinks that this movie is okay, or good, is extremely suspect in my eyes.
My main issue is with the shit machine that craps out our childrens' role models. Where has wholesome gone. I swear this generation is going to be so messed up...

"Wholesome" is just another oppressive paradigm created by primitive belief in mystical sky wizards. That's no less destructive than sexualization. I say let kids be kids.

Dancing is kids being kids. Pretending to be adults is kids being kids. Dressing in wild costumes is kids being kids. Calling the dancing in this movie "dancing like strippers" is akin to calling a child banging keys on a piano, "playing music like Elton John."

'Wholesome' refers to instilling moral and selfless mindset. Teaching healthy skills, self reliance, esteem, acceptance. Taking problems with society and breaking them down for kids to understand. Think Mr. Rogers. Shows today do not 'teach' anything. I was watching this dumb show with my 4yr old niece, in 20 mins the only lesson learned was to tell your mom you're going somewhere, but wind up doing what you're not allowed. Also witnessed the antagonist get punched and thrown overboard from a ship. Never seen again- my niece giggled.
I'm not saying the 'conservative family unit' is in jeopardy... But people have kids and stick them in front of a tv or computer without supervision.
Parents need to spend more time with their children, and of course kids should be kids, it's what I'm trying to convey.

Exactly, which is why positive role models are vital for their sponge-like minds.
Just off the top of my head, remember Boy Meets World? How about Family Matters. Home Improvement? Wholesome.
Cardi B? What a joke.

Much of what you're saying is actually the point of the movie. The characters in the movie were products of the internet/smartphone culture wherein everyone craves attention of peers by pushing the boundaries of acceptable behavior.
Given that, and setting aside whatever issues you may have with child actors, do you see a value in the movie insofar as it presents a message?
