You are a bit late for this season, it's pretty much over by now so even experienced hunters are relying even more on their luck at this stage. Look out for wood chipped gardens like in parks and visit them at the beginning of next season.
You can find subs and weraroa var. subsecotioides most likely in wood chips. Psilocybe. wreraroa (the white little pouch fungi) are more of a bush thing among leave litter, twigs and branches.Psilocybe semilanceata growing in paddocks.
Also cubes are not growing here in the wild.
So you have a few month on your hands to read through all the old NZ season threads, gather some information (here, here and here), look at pictures and go sniffing out some suitable habitats and you will be golden next year in April.
And the most important thing:
If you don't know what mushroom you have found then don't (never ever) eat it. Many people in the hunting & identification forum are more than happy to help you with identifications and to keep you safe.

I also have a Subaeruginosa guide you can check out here https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26552041#26552041 not sure how relevant it is to New Zealand though.

Most of the mushrooms have gone to new homes now. These are the runts of the litter.
Well there is the odd couple around still.

Looking closely through the soil I can see that there are several aborted fruit. Small pins that never matured and turned black. I guess that this must happen regularly as I noticed a couple like this last lot as well.

Yeah I found watering regularly definitely helps out mine. Thing to remember, our tap water is full of chemicals so rain water is the way to go, or let tap water sit for 48 hours. Well I have been told that letting the water sit works.

Looks like I’ll be retiring my season with this WAH. It’s been pretty good for me considering the Auckland drought. Fingers crossed next year will be even better. Might have to spread a few bags of tui garden mulch around my garden lol.

My subs spot seems to have dried up for the season but I think I’ve found my first weraroa (correct next if I’m wrong)

Yeah I’d more or less stopped looking, just got lucky and spotted it while I was working. There were a few others there but wasn’t sure if they actually were weraroas so just grabbed one, might have to go have another look

Yeah moved back to nz a few years ago now and the water where i live now is like drinking out of a swimming pool. Initially I had lines of big glass jars sitting on the window sill above my sink to get rid of the chlorine. Have since installed a carbon filter which does the whole house because that shit tastes awful. In the end the watering was a bit pointless as it pissed with rain that afternoon (just as I was trying to finish a bit of concreting off dammit) and has rain all today so all I achieved was alerting someone to "my" spot

It's been real dry down in Chch so I gave up a couple of weeks ago. I a not seeing galleria and little brown mushrooms - too dry.
I was a late start on the season so I would be out there if I thought there was still hope.
My domestic water is still (thankfully) not chlorinated.
If only we had some DMT containing plants in NZ. That shit sounds fascinating.

We got plenty of DMT containing plants in NZ (they are everywhere) just not in the concentrations preferred. . .
There are grasses and acacias. . .

I've had a bit of a look into extracting the ol dmt.... seems fairly straightforward, at least in comparison to producing other substances. Is it still possible/worth it with these plants that have less than preferred amounts? I guess your yield would just be less. Secondly who is willing to be a test subject if I make some. Had a single puff on some about 10 years ago before I'd even heard of it. Didn't go too deep but I guess had a taste of the potential. Everything you can find in this life comes from nature, some of its just been processed a little.

It does seem pretty straight forward. . . The problem is finding/knowing the right plants, and not being scared of trying your product. . . I guess if you were serious, reagent testing kits would help
I've been given some seeds of 'the good one bro' to see if I can get a few acacias growing. . . If the grow amd seed in a few years, I'll make sure to give them to all who want. . .

Hey the king of WAH's is back! Still a few popping up but very minimal. Just checked out my late producing spot and saw a grand total of 2... this is the prime specimen.
 Mmmmmm weak..

I found them to be of a similar potency.
