Is it ok to use the dusty brown stuff at the bottom of reishi antlers? * 1

Hello,

I just harvested my first batch of reishis and there is this dusty brown looking stuff on the base of the antlers. It doesn’t really rub off, but it’s a completely different color and texture from the rest of the body. I’m making tinctures with these, do you think it’s ok to include this part or should I cut it off? Any suggestions are appreciated!

If it's rust colored dust it's probably spores, sometimes you'll get them even from antlers, if they grow pores which they often do.

Or it could be just the fruits itself, reishi looks all kinds of gnarly.

Either way, it's totally fine to use

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them?  Try this double extraction method.

Thank you! That’s what I was thinking but I thought I should double check before I ruined a whole jar of tincture.
