This plate is T3 from spore. Growth looks off to me, maybe just more tometose than I'm used to seeing. What do you guys think? Variety is rusty whytes. Just want to be sure I didn't transfer mold.

I see what you mean on the top, but it looks good to me.
Take it one more to 4, transfer from 6 o clock or so. 👍

Here is a follow up post to this culture. As it grows out it seems ok to me but a better trained eye may think otherwise. First picture is the original plate now, second picture is 2 transfers taken from the original.
You guys think it looks ok?

I see this type of growth when I use too much nutrients in my agar recipe. I typically go lighter on the carbohydrates (potato flakes, BRF, oatmeal....) to entice the rhizomorphic growth.
As soon as your myc reaches the edges and toward the sky over plastic alone, I’m sure it’ll go rhyzo as it lacks the nutes.

Here is the same culture a few transfers later. Still has the same fluffiness but I haven't poured a weaker agar mixture yet. It gets a little ropey as the plate fully colonizes. This one was poured a bit short but has been fully colonized for a few days.

This is what it looks like a few days after transfer.

What are your guys thoughts?

Probably going to toss a plate to grain and set what happens. Thinking if there was mold piggybacking it would have sporulated in some of the older dishes.

Looks fine. Just more tometose, which is what I end up seeing on most of my cultures.
Throw it on some grain and find out.
