You don't need rhizo growth to have a good culture. Some of my best grows came from cotton ball myc. People like the way it looks and because of its appearance it tends to look like it colonized faster. Beyond that I don't understand the fascination.

👍👍 i fully agree however i will at least try to find rhizo growth also. when i take clones il take as many transfers as possible and fruit each one one out by its self to see what i get but ive also had tome plates that were fantastic but i  my experience iv had more rhizo plates perform good than ive had tome plates. 🤷🏼 so really it can go either way but i just always at least look for rhizo growth first. but this is just me

So I transferred a piece of that colonized agar up top to a new Petri dish and they are still growing out like cotton balls.  How to people get that rhizo look?  I’ll see it one day starting to lool rhizo and then the next day cotton ball grew over it or something.  So the last time it looked like rhizo is when I cut it out and put on a new Petri Dish.  I did 3 of them and all are growing nice but all look like cotton balls.

Any ideas?

🤔

I get them online because I can’t find a pressure canner anywhere to make my own.

So, you think it could be a nutrient issue?  That’s good to know.  Thanks!
