Would yhou say these are Liberty Caps? They were picked around 10 hours ago on my way to work if that makes any difference.
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it

I'm not doubting you, but just to learn more, why are you sure they're not libs?

stems are far too thin, gills are far too light in color. this is a common lawn mushroom. forget the family name

Iām very accustomed to identifying libs over other mushrooms.these donāt have the tell tale traits of libs. The stem colour is off. Libs have a more sturdy sometimes twisted cranked white stem. Libs are dark brown when wet drying out to a white/tan colour. Libs have brown gills I think. They also regularly have a nipple on top.
There is a wealth of info online and on this site (particularly the uk 2018 and 2019 threads etc) which will help you in hunting for and identifying libs but always come here for confirmation. Unfortunately no amount of reading online will substitute for hitting the fields and looking for them and unfortunately picking the wrong ones until you get the knack for what your looking for. Generally if youāve got a good idea of what you are looking for and you eventually find them, youāll know you got em. Thereās a very good saying which is - If in doubt chuck it out
Happy hunting!
