I’m trying to look it up but it’s a strange thing to search.
The territories which the Amish live in, what are those territories legally classified as? Like what did the Amish have to do or apply for or what to obtain these territories?

They don't have territories. They just buy land.

They live in lanchester County ore whatever its called pretty sure. Its not some protected area or somthing. Its like how a ton of Mormons live in Utah n shit. They just buy land and kinda have thier own governments within the church but obviously they have to work with the modern world to operate. But like theres a whole modern world going on with ppl living ur average american lives around them. You'll drive past them in a car while they're in horse and buggy. Its just they live in a bunch of corn fields basically so there's not a ton else going on anyway. Nice folk tho the Amish.

How do they get to do that ? Live in their own society ? They have it set up to where they have their own culture and land , they don’t have to pay into Medicaid or social security and largely don’t follow many American laws Like how did they get to their specific situation ? Surely you can’t just do that from buying land ?
( I don’t think it’s wrong btw it’s just heavily interesting, like a random little pocket country , how can that be formed ? )

Because theyre a religious group thats been around since the 1700s. They left Europe to escape religious persecution and came to America where those freedoms were protected.

also im sure they pay taxes and follow all laws as a religious principle. But I believe most things within the community are done thru barter and trade or atleast alot of it.

I’m sure they pay state and federal of course , but I know they don’t have to pay into social programs and what not , they are half their own entity and I’m trying to find the laws or whatever that allow one to do that basically They also don’t follow all laws with in their communities , like zoning laws or child labor laws , because there’s no one who would report , and no one to report it to anyhow I’m sure for the laws of the land like murder and rape they may get American law authority involved But I’m also sure they’ve dished out their own justice in their own communities too Does it all ONLY have to do w religion ? The laws to do this I mean

No that doesn't happen only with religion. Often times businesses are grandfathered into specific special treatments. Basically its because they've been around since the start the country and everyone was fine with them doing thier own thing cuz they weren't hurting anything with it and now its become sort of a tourist attraction for the area

Indeed. I can see “how” that happened but it still has to be defined legally somewhere, it’s not as if all legal entities that make up the functioning government just know “The Amish are grandfathered in” They have to legally be labels as soemthing , and there has to be a way to obtain a similar situation in the modern era , be it here or elsewhere.

Asides from not paying Social Security they basically are the same as all of us. There's no difference outside of them having a bunch rules of their own.
You could do this on your property (assuming you own one) if you get the exemption from the IRS.
As for laws and enforcement, there's a long history of hidden abuse, rape, etc., in Amish communities. They also like to skirt environmental laws, generally they are terrible polluters, and because they try so hard to stay out the lime light they generally get away with it.

I’m not sayign the Amish are culturally good people or anything , in fact I know nothing of who the Amish are culturally or socially , I’m only interested in the legality of their situation.
So you feel any one could do this so long as they owned land ? Even if one couldn’t get IRS exempt , the rules aspect ?

In Pennsylvania, the Amish pay all of the same taxes as everybody else. That includes real estate and income tax, local, state, and federal. To get out of Social Security you have to get a waiver from the IRS.
Like I said, they aren't any different legally than anybody else. The exception being their waiver on Social Security. They own their land, and they act as they see fit on that land. It's that simple.
You are free to deny electricity service, TV service, and any other service on your land as long as you aren't breaking any laws doing so. That's what the Amish do. There are no special permissions/laws needed.

Huh... that’s really crazy. You would think in a place like this then , that many communities of like minded individuals would form.
I almost can’t wrap my head around it , surely a bunch of people can’t just purchase land together and live how they see fit w/o Gov. getting involved beyond making sure it’s not some weird murder cult or something.

How is it that you can't wrap your head around it?
I own my property, I am sitting here do what I want on it. People do it every day. Some are Amish, some are Christian, some have small penises, others like to eat taco's. There's nothing mysterious about it.

You mean Lancaster County, which is just a popular tourist destination in Pennsylvania but all of the surrounding counties as well as their surrounding counties are populated with Amish and Mennonite communities. They are primarily farmers so they are located on farmland throughout the united states, it's just kind of strange to hear the view as to confining them to a county or single place for that matter.
I would say Amish/Mennonite are nice in the sense that they keep to themselves but as in any nicer then the rest of society your being naive they just have a strict religious lifestyle. Amish/Mennonite have a general indifference to society at large but they really don't like you they just work with the rest of society because they have to which has been increasing over the years.
They have their own schools, pay taxes like we do just not their churches, police their own yet are subject to our laws and work with local police in special circumstances but are left alone, and they will go to hospitals in extreme cases but it's not the norm they use local resources like old school doctors that make house visits. They are also builders and landlords of housing in the local cities, and local cities will accommodate them like having horse and buggy stalls at Walmart etc.
Amish & Mennonite are completely different but similar communities that tend to live in close proximity to each other, that's definitely case in the Lancaster Pa area but not everywhere...

There's Amish, Mennonite, and various communities all over Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and many other states. I grew up in Western Pa and went to school with Amish kids when they would attend our public school. It was a very rural area.

Yes, exactly what I'm saying it gets even more peculiar driving around in the New Jersey/New York area because of the third similar community of Hasidic jews.
Amish & Mennonite are not confined to special lands like reservations...

So they could expand their land with the purchase of more land ?
And what are reservations in legal terms ? What do it’s residence live and abide by? From any native friends i have , I’ve never heard anything good about the condition of the their res.

I live in Pittsburgh and we have a rather large Hasidic population as well. They are a lot more assimilated than Amish or other traditional populations are.
