I agree, if you're going to keep it, isolate it from everything else so it doesn't sporulate onto your other projects.

I’ve never really had bacterial issues spread from Trey to Trey only fungal contamination and I’m not even sure the overlay only happens in the presence of bacteria although it definitely seems that bacteria can cause it. But I’ve also had perfectly healthy looking Spohn just continue to colonize way past where it should, But eventually it would switch over to fruiting and I would get a full tray. Every now and then I will get fungal contamination that is like a fake out because it starts white and then after a few days will change green but it has a different texture and I can now spot the difference

Although now that I looked up at the top pictures it looks like some of that could almost be communes it’s hard for me to see though, I’ve never had that many communes before though

Yeah and on some of the blobs You can see the metabolite piss but that could also be communes I’ve had communes that have these specs on them that look very similar to the metabolites produced by mycelium in the presence on bacteria 🧫

I don't have a pic of the culture on agar right now but I can take one tomorrow.
New term for me. What is the spohn?
One of the trays (not showed in the thread) did die to black pin mold so it wouldn't surprise me if the other trays suffer from something.
What does "communes" describe?

But not really that’s why I’m saying I don’t think that’s what it is but I’ve had some really weird looking communes before that looked kind of like overlay with holes in them

I wasn't thinking when I said that, of course bacteria wouldn't release spores, it was a brain fart!!!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by communes.
It smelled like mushrooms. Not quite like cubes but kinda close I'd say No sweet smell or anything.
I do not think that it looks like that picture though

I always separate bad grows no matter what the cause may be.
