Depends on what type of contamination you have. Bacteria contaminated mycelium would be very difficult to see, if not impossible...

Try looking here.

no it doesn't look like any of that
all of the contams shown on the faq on agar are very blatant
ie they are brown or green
this is more like white spots
it could almost be rhizomorphic growth
but it is more dense than the surrounding growth
i have seen contams on casings, in jars, etc.
and it doesn't appear to be like any of them
but this is my first time with agar

Does it look like mycelium? Does it look like hyphal aggregates? You say it could be rhizomorphic growth, does it look like twisted strings? I have had white bacterial contamination on agar before, almost looks like drops of milk, not mycelium.

Sounds like the beginning of pins on agar to me... Perhaps you could describe it better, or post a picture. This belongs in the contamination forum anyway...

i would've had to wait till tmrw to get these answers

It most likely is the beginning of knots, which just goes to show you have an isolate that is very willing to fruit. I would select the best growth and transfer it to another plate. Keep an eye on the other one.

If it looks like little cotton balls, then it is hyphal aggregates (or knots).
