Do these grain jars look normal? First time with them...
    #26887353 - 08/18/20 07:22 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Hey all,

How do these jars look? It's my first time doing grain jars (rye berries) so not sure how they should look free of contams.

They look great for the most part but the bottoms look kind of dark to me. I think it's normal but wanted to make sure.

Bottom 2

Edit: To everyone suggesting that I can upload pics here.. I normally do and tried, but there was an error saying that due to technical difficulties at this time, to use imgur instead..

My VERY inexperienced eye says ice cream which is a sign of bacteria. Im sure someone with experience will chime in and give a definite answer.

Youโ€™ll get way more help if you load the pics on here.

Those are very bacterial but if you spawn them 1-1 with coir theyโ€™ll probably fruit alright.

Those are really bacterial, but may be worth spawning to their own shoeboxes.

You can upload pictures to this the shroomery BTW. Just use the link under your name in the top left.

Why is it that the ice cream bacteria is usually still okay to spawn? I've read in a few places that you can usually get away with it and get some fruit.

Thanks guys.

Worst part is ... Figuring it was fine in my naรฏvetรฉ I did a few g2g transfers.

Still have agar plates going so trying to isolate further but for some reason I can't kick this bacteria... or whatever it is.

The agar plates that I've been working came from syringes. I'm on transfer 5 or 6 I think.

I also have ~2 month old plates that I let grow and they just got some fruits growing now, so I think I might take those to agar but want to read more into / make another post depending.

Cloning plate pins has usually turned out really well the handful of times Iโ€™ve done it.
