The size and depth are good but sadly its MERV rating is too low. You need MERV 13 or above.

I found mine for about $250 on Ebay, free shipping. It was labeled "nuclear grade" and was new old stock from 2016. They pop up on there pretty often, pretty sure it's some kind of military surplus.

Here is where you can find a pdf

Okay, I wanted to ask in this thread
I bought my filter. It is a AAF Flanders 24x24x12 HVAC Filter VARICEL DH MERV13 331-300-107 1060300-107
For 80 bucks on Ebizzle it was a good deal
I figured out the wg number or the resistance number which is .52
Now I am attempting to find a good squirrel cage fan that will work with it. Everyone says to look up the specs, but I can't actually find the specs or the pdf's that have them.
I found this blower
https://www.amazon.com/Inch-Diameter-Shaded-Blower-Replaces/dp/B07H4584G3/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=dayton+blower&qid=1596673533&refinements=p_76%3A2661625011&rnid=2661623011&rps=1&sr=8-14
Is this going to work? I tried to google the manual with it, but did not find it.

Why such a thick filter? 12" jeeze mine is only 5 7/8 24x12 99.97 rated HEPA cost $178 haven't had a contam yet but I do want a taller one for bags I'm tired of jars. So might go 24x24 for the big bags.

The filter was 80 bucks, couldn't beat the price... however I had to up my game with the blower.
This was the blower I was looking at:
Dayton 1TDT2
Resistance is 0.52 for the filter and at 0.5 this thing runs at 450, so I think it should work since it is higher than 300 CFM

I love it!! I totally watched Willy's video over and over. However... If you click on the rover links they don't find the products. I used his thingie majigs to learn about resistance.
I was having a tough time finding that stuff
I did find a filter for 80 bucks and I am looking at a $155 plus tax so like 170 blower. So Not too bad for the price.
just gotta get the stuff to build the bastard.

Okay, so I finally got my blower and I received my filter in the mail. I had a lot of help from Rapjack and trippy times to figure out the blower's resistance vs the filter.
The only problem I have is that this thing doesn't have a plug or anything... Does anyone know how to wire this thing up? Also does anyone know a good 2x2 prefilter?
There is going to be a little resistance added on when I put the prefilter in, but I still believe the blower will stand up to it.
Thanks for everyone's help!

You should be able to buy a garbage disposal whip or dishwasher whip they should come in 3'and 6' lengths. Put it in the two screw connector and match the wires in the makeup box with the wires on the cord. Wire nut them and reassemble the makeup box. Then you should be good to go.

Yep, or you can cannibalize a power strip or something. For the prefilter I just use a standard furnace filter that's duct taped over the blower's intake opening.

Post a picture of the wiring diagram and we can tell you exactly how to do it. Blowers almost never come wired to a plug

I'm very excited to watch your build. Take lots of pictures and afterwards make a post "BCF's Cheapest Ever Proper Flow Hood Build". Your sourcing of everything has been kickass.

Well... It's actually a lot easier than I thought for wiring this thing. Has a hot and neutral.
Just a question though: I bought a replacement cord for this thing thinking that after I got it, I would find that it has a 3 prong plug and would basically have to wire hot neutral and ground. However, the blower only has hot and neutral.
Can I wire a 3 prong plug to the hot and neutral wires of the blower by breaking off the ground plug on the replacement cord and only wiring hot and neutral to the replacement cord?

A lot of times there will be a green screw in the makeup box of the blower. Wrap ground wire around that. If no green screw then you can use as is. No need to break off the ground prong. It will never see any current from the plug.
