Habitat: Found these growing out of thick moss
Gills: I couldn't get up under them to see, they are pretty small
Stem: thin white/greyish
Cap: some have a cone looking cap and others have a nipple/flying saucer looking cap
Spore print color: I didn't pick them yet
Bruising: How do I bruise it?
Other information: There are so many different typer of mushrooms growing on our property, I decided to go take a look and found some that I think may be "active" ? I've never done this so I'm green as it gets.

Just for fun, here's a big monster of a shroom I found out in the middle of a grassy field. Should have added something to the picture for size reference. Thing looks like a human brain just laying in the middle of the field from a bit of distance.

Found lots of red caps that look like a smooth hamburger bun, little brown caps that look like nipples, some golden/yellow caps. We always have a bunch of shrooms growing out back but this year they are everywhere, I had to go take a look.
Honest question here, how do I bruise them? I've read if I squeeze the stem and it turns blue/purple, it means it's "active"? Is this correct?

Your brain mushroom resembles Calvatia craniiformis.
Not all mushrooms that bruise blue are active.
I am not a Trusted Identifier. Please wait for one.

Yes, you damage part of the fruitbody and then watch for discolorations on that spot. The stem is an obvious place to try since discoloration is generally easier to see there accurately than elsewhere. There are several mushrooms that show discoloration upon bruising and by far not all of them contain psychoactive substances. In the blue(ish) bruising category, notable examples are several species of boletus (and associated genera such as xerocomus), but there are no known psychoactive boletes. Another example are witches' hats (hygrocybe conica and related species) that also bruise a very dark color that can be mistaken for blue bruising (it's actually a bit more green/cyan), but that likewise doesn't imply presence of hallucinogenic chemistry.
Other colors occur as well; e.g. lactarius deliciosus bruises green (and is an excellent edible as the name suggests - but strictly of the culinary kind), and amanita (ameri)rubescens bruises a pretty pink-red color (edible when thoroughly cooked, and, again, not a trippy shroom).
So when it comes to bruising, there's a wide range of possibilities, but there certainly is no 1-1 relationship between bruising and psychoactivity. It's just one of the characteristics you may look for, but all by itself, it doesn't say much.
