Sound experts, how do you get this microphone effect? 1

Lets isolate that some:
A short echo with a metallic ring to it. Famous from classic rock.
How would you alter a vocals track nowadays to get that oldstyle "live" sound?

Sounds like a tunnel.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

probably super easy today, back in the day the engineer would have had to set-up the soundstage/mic position and then manually reverb the vocals track then sync the reverbed track to the original vocals. The metallicish sound to the reverb is probably from the type of microphone or room it was recorded in, or interference was added in some manner.
Check out this video for some of what I'm talking about (not really my strong suit at all)

Sounds like a slapback delay. You could use any delay plugin (or delay analogue module, if you're fortunate enough to have one). Set the delay time pretty fast, somewhere just above 50 ms. Then, start to tweak the feedback setting until you're just getting a single echo (that's what it means to be a slapback). Then, you can increase the attack time until things start to sound a little more spacious. It's a nice way to give your vocals some more depth. A lot of people will try to give their vocals more depth and space by applying reverb, but I think that can make the vocals sound kind of washed out and push them back in the mix (cool effect if you're trying to sound like the Fleet Foxes or Tame Impala), but if you want some added depth / space without compromising clarity, then slapback delay is your friend.
As for that song you shared (the first one), it doesn't sound like that vocal was recorded in a "live" setting at all. It sounds like it was recorded very dry, likely in a studio with professional sound-proofing, with some post-processing effects applied.

Super easy today with a good reverb to dial in the tones. Also using a short delay with feedback before. Back in the day I'm not sure, but I know they had spring reverbs, perhaps plate as well? Sounds like a spring reverb there, so maybe the mic signal was put through a spring reverb.
The vintage live sound just comes from all the elements together creating a recording.

Watch the video I posted, its about reverse reverb, but the dude does a great job explaining how it was done with tracks before all the computer programs came about. Those sound engineers where damn creative.

I'll definitely watch that later. They were super creative. They had to be! limitations encourage creativity.

Sounds like Reverb to me. Ive been playing with my Native Instruments Traktor Pro 3 Dj software and the Reverb effect sounds similar to that effect you posted.

Its cool, cause at the same time he shows how easy he can do it with modern sound engineering. Cool comparison vid.

The story was iggy was so loaded in ludes he had to be recorded from a prone position thru a long tube connecting his mouth to the mic. On this take he had place tinfoil over the end of the tube to smoke meth herion speedballs giving it that iconic cat on a tin roof sound. The rest was rock and roll history.

Some reverb, eq settings dropping off highs and lows, just a little bit of distortion.
Or set a PA in the bathroom and mic the bathroom.
