Hey there guys just need a little ID help with these guys I found at the park the other day. Thanks in advance
First one: Found in a sandy area off the trail a stone throw from the creek.

Second one I found on the trail in some woodchips on a sloping hill, more inside the forest area.

A Phylloporus parasitized with Hypomyces and Agaricus section Xanthodermatei.
For the Agaricus it would help to see the base of the stem.

Thank you very much Alan! Love the specifics. Unfortunately I was under attack from mosquitoes and didn't snap better pictures, I did mean to get better stem shots.

Off-topic: A month ago went hiking on scorching hot day after 48 hours of rain. There were some mosquitos but I manly ignored them. Counted 80+ mosquito bites through clothes and everything. Had a slight fever the next day from the shock and pain.
Never again will I repeat that without insect repellent. Lesson learned.

And jeez 80+? It's a wonder you didn't get something worse than a fever! Yeah I have had some rough experiences with bugs but the ones at that park were vicious. As soon as one got me it was like a hive-mind to attack lol

I first noticed it when I bought bug spray in a pharmacy in Mexico and noticed it worked well but didn't smell like it would give me cancer. (deet doesn't give you cancer, but it smells like it will). It's also not bitter, and doesn't dissolve plastics like DEET. I still like DEET better because it lasts a little longer, but both are pretty good. Picardin is a better choice if you are on a date because DEET tastes awful.

I'm going to have to get some, especially if it smells less like cancer. I always hated that smell. I would rather reapply every hour than deal with that. I have been using OFF deep woods and it works great but I feel sorry for any plant (or fungi) life that it lands on when spraying.
And since me and my girlfriend literally always go hunting together, It sounds like a great choice! Now we don't have to suffocate together
