We are surrounded by them, saints don't seem to advertises themselves in a mainstream, out-for-money kind of way. They're funny that way..
And if they are it's usually by someone close to them who is too tempted by the option to "get rich quick" off of their spirituality; just as all mainstream religions have become financially corrupted to different degrees.

Yes, they'd be almost impossible to reliably find or document, I agree. I've just never quite filled in the gaps of the esoteric art of meditation, and the superpowers these individuals have.
It's relatively completely undocumented in the scientific literature, of course. Seems like one of the last mysteries.

I had a spiritual director who is unquestionably a saint. She would not like it if I outed her to anyone, but it was obvious within less than five minutes of meeting with her the first time. She would still be my director but her order moved her to a new assignment working with refugees in Europe.

Such canonization is a declaration that the person is in heaven, therefore, they must have already died. It is impossible for there to be a living canonized saint.
