Request for ID please- fairly new to this.

Hi there- I'm fairly new to this so looking for an ID if possible.
Habitat:I found these growing in clusters in medium length grass in South East Scotland. 230ft altitude, found in open grassy area between large trees.
Brown Gills. Whitish thin stem. Caps are slightly pointed but no anywhere near as pointed as photos I have seen of liberty caps elsewhere on this forum, so not sure if that is what they are... Some of them have a brownish ring round the bottom of the caps just before the edge where it overhangs the gills.
Any help greatly appreciated. Just learning to ID. Thanks. :-)

Panaeolus sp, likely panaeolus foenisecii but they could be cinctulus. Making a spore print can help in differentiating between the two.

Thanks Lycurmt for your reply. Really appreciate it. Just googled photos of both species to see which it more closely resembles. I take it Panaeolus sp is the psychedelic one (i.e. it contains psilocybin) and panaeolus foenisecii doesn't?

Sp is just species. The active one he suggested was cinctulus and yes, foes are not active.

Thanks both OOISI and lycurmt for your replies. Greatly appreciated.
I have now uploaded some spore prints. Doesn't look exactly jet black, more dark browny/ black. What do you think?
Thanks again

Those prints are indeed brown, which indicates P. foenisecii.

Active pans will have jet black inky prints. You can usually tell by looking at the gills. They will be more dense and the black spore deposits will be visible.
