Agar clean up/transfer input
    #26884217 - 08/17/20 02:19 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

I'm having to re-evaluate my techniques and what I choose to clean up an what to throw away. I've held onto these to containers because I feel there is some really good Mycellium growing in them. There is also what appears to be penicillium contam. I had a bad batch of about 20 containers that all developed it. I'm not sure what caused it but I completely disinfected my SAB and started over. So before I transfer any agar from these containers I want forum input. Is it worth it? Will the spores contam my next transfer? I was planning on transferring from 4 to 7 o'clock on one and 4 to 9 o'clock on the other.

My next question is.... Is it possible or in someones best interest to put the what appears to be healthy myc to grain instead of transferring? Does having contam in the container automatically make it worthless?

I think there's already plenty of material on this website to answer those questions...

Transfer away, but you'd probably be best to start over now that those contams have really bloomed badly.

I would disagree about there being enough info on my specific question. I'm not going to ask a question that I haven't made an attempt at finding the answer on my own. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Cut the plates into pieces away
from the contamination, transfer to clean plates ASAP.
