Ok, what about shiny smooth decorative rocks sold at hardware stores?

Just buy a 40lb bag of pea gravel from your local garden center / wal-mart / home depot / etc.

Polished stones are no good and should also be sparingly used as decor on the top. Top dressing should be very thin.

Agree with the ID's given above. There's 2 Trichocereus there.

As for soil, you want a free draining soil mix. These plants naturally grow in rich soils in cloud forests. Not deserts.

Add anything that is porous to the soil like, scoria, akadama, pumice, etc. Perlite can be used but it will float to the top of the soil after a while.

Re pot the plants into pots 2-4 times the size they're in now.

Budman , that big yellow flower on that cacti is crazy hallucinogenic , whatever you do , don't eat the whole thing in one sitting.

I told you I seen you.

I could find any vermiculite so I did them pee rocks and some eco earth coir and some miracle crow organic version potting soil. That organic miracle grow stuff is actually decent stuff unlike any other miracle grow i have ever used.

Don't water them again for at least a month or two. Flushing them like that right after re-potting is rolling the rot dice. Find some vermiculite, I use it mainly because it helps keep dirt from compacting and lets it flow easier.

Should I leave them outside or bring them inside?

I would leave them outside in a location where they get good sunlight but aren't being scorched. Bring them inside when temperatures drop below 45. Most of my plants are inside my greenhouse already, been moving them in a little at a time so I don't have the fall rush.

Don't use vermiculite. It compacts after a while and is also an unnecessary additive.

This isn't OTD.

It's a glued on cornflower.

Have you got a fireplace or BBQ .. you could use some of the charcoal to help pad out your mixture.

Someone told me when buying cactus I need to watch out for neoraimondia neocardenasia herzogiana, which when I google it, they look awfully similar to san pedro and my cactus when small, is there a chance I accidentally bought that kind by mistake?

"Neoraimondia Neocardenasia Herzogiana" has more reddish spines, denser spination, larger areols, as well as areols that are angled upward. While it could be confused for Trichocereus Peruvianus by the uninitiated, there are enough differences to tell them apart in all but extreme cases.

You got two nice Trichocereus.

Sweet, so stoked if they survive my armature soil mixture. I hope to expand this into many cacti.

Here are some more pics. They each have different color spines. Ones darker and ones very light

Ok I am actually pretty sure this Cactus is Peruvian Torch at this point.

What do you all think about that?

There's also some speculation that PC pachanoi may be actually a different species entirely.

So once I bring it inside for the winter will it keep growing?

Yeah it can do that if brought inside where its warm but not adequate sunlight.  San pedro mastery talks about it in this video
