Question about shoeboxes with BRF
    #26881879 - 08/15/20 03:28 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

so I think I know the answer I just want to make sure before I break my cakes up into coir. Do I need to dunk the cake for a few hours first or can I just break it up into my shoebox and the misting will be enough?

No need to dunk, the sub has all the water needed in it. Dunking just makes the grating/breaking up messy. The finer you can break it up the better, more contact points between myc and sub then.

I just break mine up into the coir and mist the top pseudo-casing of coir thoroughly to encourage top side pins. Set it and forget it.

I don’t colonize or dunk my BRF cakes when I shred them to coir/verm. Here’s my first b+ shoebox, I got 77g wet first flush. It’s just 1 pint or two half pint jars of brf cakes

Any pe varieties I case at spawn with a thin layer of coir/verm. Here’s my first ape shoebox from brf cakes

I’m still a newb though so maybe wait for more opinions
