Looks quite tomentose and less rhizo. How did these APEs work out for ya? I am still waiting for any significant fruiting with my PE tubs spawned on the 28th of Aug. (check 2 posts above). 2 pins so far lol. The myc was mostly rhizo.

They’re still growing now. This has been my first run of any PE variety. Definitely slower than I’m used to lol but I hear they’re damn strong. This particular clone is said to rock out on the 2nd flush. I’ve got plenty of knots and little blob pins on the 1st so I don’t know if I set the tub up a lil too dry or it’s just always like that.

Did you soak or bottom water before the second flush?
I've noticed millet colonises more tomentose. I bet it has to do with nutrient solubility

Those ape I posted are still the first flush but I will float it a bit before the second. I prep my bulk pretty dry but someone here told me ape like a lil more water so I’ll prep with that in mind next time.
I’ve seen the same culture look ropey, fuzzy and in between depending on the agar mix or grain it was on. I don’t really put much stock in the looks of cube myc, beyond how healthy or organized it looks.

Tomentose myc hides contams better ime.
If thats the first flush its definately lacking good surface conditions. The pinset could be better. Read through this https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23999053

BTW what are you guys finding the average fruiting time for PE from spawn to bulk? I see pins in 14 days for most varieties. This PE was spawned July 28th and just starting to see minimal pins (about 21 days so far). I am optimistic however as these fruits are from the same LC:

I don’t remember for sure but it was a while. 20 days sounds about right.

Ok cool. Now that i know this LC is viable i guess its just a waiting game. My buddy that gifted the LC said it was 3 weeks but i am at 3 weeks and have weak pinset. The late cased test tub is doing the best so far.

I grew some APE last year during the winter and man they took forever, then all the fruits were pretty small.
Of course because of the genetics only a few looked like a penis and they rest were super fat stem and small caps. I did still harvest a few oz out of my monotub though and the stems were very dense. crazy having so many dense small shrooms.
