Spores/mycelium questions

To start,im definitely Not a newbie to the cultivation experience and different "tek" methods. With that being said when I would order spore syringes I used the trusted site that had never let me down till recently.the source used was sporestore.com, Mostly never had any problems except for the last 2 times I purchased from them. I ordered the first one and when I recieved it I guess the spores were somehow germinated inside the syringe. It looked like liquid culture. But I didnt think that could happen without some type of nutrition in the solution for it to feed on. And I tried it. Failed to contam. Then exact same happen to last one I purchased but this one is almost a cloudy grey color almost. So my questions are what could cause that and two does anyone know of a better reliable source I can browse spores. I would appreciate any help/advice I can get.

Best choice is spore print on agar. It`s usually a pain to clean syringes up.

I've experienced this with syringes that i've had lying in the fridge for about 6-12 month so probably an old batch you've gotten. You should ask for your money back or a replacement.

I guess that depends on the supplier. I haven't come across major issues when doing syringes on agar.

It's not mine right now. Spent the past month trying to clean up syringes on agar and haven't had a single sign of myc yet. About 30 plates. Sucess putting them to brf and grain, but Goatrider nailed it when he said its a pain to clean syringes up. (In my case)
This isn't the case for everyone. I've seen a lot of testimonials saying their first drop from a syringe on agar made the perfect germ plate, but I've had a lot of luck and it's all been bad.

If it’s germinating on grain then just take a colonized grain out and put that on some agar and go from there.

That's my next plan. I'm debating doing this or putting the grain straight to sub to try to get a fruit to clone or spore then start from there.
What I believe is happening in my case is there was an extremely small amount of spores (or dormant ones) in my syringes and the drop that was applied to agar was never enough. It wasn't until i started shooting 2ccs into jars that i reached any success.
They have also all been bacteria or had competing mold spores that overran the cube myc and never gave it a chance to survive on agar.
I'm starting from scratch with all of this though so there's a huge amount of variables and don't want to go pointing fingers at vendors when it could definitely be my technique.
Edit: also waiting for the jars to colonize before i open to limit the chance of getting any competing organisms on agar. Almost there!
