What is it on agar?

preface:
Hello, first of all I apologize in case I posted in the wrong section and for my english from google translator. I used the search button but I did not find any answers (among other things, I thank the whole community that I have been following for a couple of years which has allowed me to deepen more and more what I had already learned from other forums and sources.
content: I recently started agar due to the contaminants that last year never allowed me to go beyond colonization (later I had to give up due to economic and personal problems). I just inoculated 3 jars (I don't have pedri) of agar (boiled potato agar) and 2 of these already have a thin white patina (2 days after MS inoculation). I humbly await clarification, thank you so much.

2 days are very fast for colonization.
You should attach some good quality pictures.
You may also move through some links in my signature.

yeah I agree with goatrider. Two days seems quick. Could be cobweb mold.
But you have the right attitude. Be persistent, and soon you will have the results you're looking for.

I tried to add photos but it loads endlessly. now try again. thank you for the spur but the problem is that I doubt it is mycelium, it is not hairy, it is all over the surface and it does not look like us according to my (little) experience. I think bacteria but im not sure.

Looks like bacteria to me. Did you use a spore print or syringe? How did you sterilise the agar?

When loading photos i find more success limiting to 2-3 at a time.
Looks like you put too much liquid from the syringe in those. It should only need a drop.
With the language barrier try to speak through your photos, show us your process instead of explaining it.

I used an ms syringe, inoculated in a sat and placed it in a zip from which today I removed. Thank you for your availability. Pc for 40 minutes (at 10psi...i know is bad...eu create problems x pc).
“ Benvenuto a Shroomery! (I speak no Italian, sorry if I butchered it).” no no, this is correct.:occhiolino:

Spore syringes will often have bacteria in them I’ve noticed. Wherever the liquid from the syringe touches, those spots start to thicken up with opaque bacteria.
If you have spore prints they would be best to use. You can look up “spore streak” method or just rub the print with the tip of your scalpel and then rub that on your agar.

unfortunately I have no spore prints, however on 3 jars one does not show these problems. I did 9 more today that are still cooling down, I'll see if the problem persists. thanks everyone for the answers, the important thing was to make sure it wasn't mycelium. ps I have already tried to transfer mycelium which either presented these problems (2 out of 6 agar jars) otherwise only mold a few days later (4/6 ... green, white and pink, black, of all colors haha)

You might want to up your PC time, too. You can go for 90 mins without a problem, given you have enough water in there. Did you vent the PC for 10 mins before putting it under pressure?

90 mins for agar sterilization? Way too much.
With 10 psi you reach a so called low temperature sterilization, which is done in labs with heat sensible media for 30 mins.
After 90 mins, your media is done for sure.

I went to 60 minutes (at 10psi) for the new agar jars. As for letting my pressure cooker vent it I think it does it automatically, as soon as we money I'm going to get a 23qt soon so I don't have this problem.

What's a heat sensible media?

You're probably right that 90 mins at 10 psi is probably too much, I was basing a guess off the fact that I do my agar at 12 psi for 1h 15 mins and never had an issue. I'm still a noob and a string of contaminated plates had me worried I wasn't going long enough at first. I'm curious what the consequences are though, I've never had a problem with growth on the plates? Unless I could be seeing more rapid growth?
I'll try lowering my cook time and see if it was just poor SAB technique that caused my first few contaminated plates, thanks for the advice.

All it could do is leave you with less media and maybe carmelize the sugars but it's doubtful

Also important would be the kind/size of the media containers. Glass jars take longer to reach sterilizing temperature, and if you have some 2 liter bottles in there, i`d up the time of course. But hey, there`s no laws for it, if you need that time, do it
