howdy all. i found these the other day growing on a fallen log suspended from the ground. They were somewhat more purple/lavander color when fresh and they got a little mashed in transport. The largest one is about 3.5cm. the cap is concave. inrolled margin. gills white/off-white. stem thick and solid (was growing on the top of the log). smells pleasant to delicious!. and spore print in the works.... well, what do you think? though oyster mushrooms are said to be commmon here (northeast) this is the first time i've run across them so i'm a bit leary.
I don't believe those are oysters,, I dare not even hazzard a guess at this point.. look very interesting though... I too am from the North East. I have yet to run across anything similar this year... Nofindum... happy hunting...
