Last final questions before I begin.

I finished gathering all my supplies that I needed and wanted to check just a few things. First I grabbed a vintage All American no7 15.5 quart pc and it works great. It’s a little dirty but cleaning it up is easy. Now it has the pressure gauge and the petcock which are working but there is a screw/valve behind the handle.

Is this the pressure release valve? I ordered all new parts to “refurb” this and also convert it to a weight valve but I wasn’t sure if the over pressure plug would fit where this screw is. Has anyone worked with that or made that replacement?

Next My garage looks like I’m feeding a stable haha. I have 100lbs of great hpoo, rye berries, unhulled millet, Milo, whole oats, WBS, and many bricks of coir. I got absorbed back into the hobby real quickly, I actually purchased sterilized grain bags just so I could make a monotub ti begin with. The plan was to inculcate the grains bags I have and go through a first flush with 3 different strains. Then get spore prints from those strains to make agar plates to inoculate additional jars of grain. I figured without the amount of grain I had I got 48 quart jars and I was going to sterilize jars with each type of grain and see how well they did vs the other grains. Has anyone done this and notice any real difference? I’m working on sourcing parts to create a laminar flow hood to do live culture cloning. Will inoculating different grain jars with the same strain cause any issue when introducing them to the bulk substrate? Thanks
