I Think I Copy Krishnamurti too much, and he don't like quoting for aggressive assertions or defensive reactions, covering are confusion with quotes, but felt like making a post of little bit of what I understand.
let me explain the self-consciousness as in 3 basic stages:
1:perception or ignorance, 2: want or avoid, 3: acquiring or discarding. these 3 stages describe what the self is, there is first a perception of something, than the want for it, than the acquiring of it, or the opposite's happen, this process builds up the self and is the cause of misery, perpetuated by ignorance.
The self is only these 3 stages and is a vicious cycle of ignorance and misery. Ignorance cause's the want, and the want cause's ignorance, to recognize the self is to be free from the cycle, awareness of this whole process leads to the freedom from it, without Identification, Justification, nor condemnation Perceive without choice, relax into choiceless awareness, be aware of Desire, it's not control of the mind that's important, it's the interest of the mind that are significant, there are many Desires in the mind, including contradictory desires, and it's not in strengthening one desire over another, or one interest over another interest that the mind gets free, but in passive and alert awareness of the whole process, see yourself in this mirror, be intensely living in the present moment, the sub-conscious entanglements and urges, the memories will arise and it will be choiceless awareness that will dissolve the problems, passive yet alert awareness of the inner and outer environment of the being will bring an end to disharmony, conflict and confusion.
when you perceive directly, whether it's anger, sadness, boredom, or a blemish like greed, envy, or violence, perceive it without justification, without condemnation, without Identification, stay with it with choiceless awareness, and when the observer is the observed, there is direct perception, and the energy of this non-straining awareness, gives the energy to dissolve the greed, the envy, the violence in your mind-heart, have no fear, because fear leads to escapes, to substitutes, to suppression or sublimation, be aware of all escapes from the direct perception, it's only natural to think in terms of escape, which is related to fear, fear is resistance, and there is no understanding in resistance.
(ok, the only good points were Krisnmurti's way of saying it! )
