The Most Important Question I'll Ask Shroomery

First of all I have learned a ton from the good people on here concerning mushroom cultivation. I looked at many other places and this one has the best information available. The success I had on my first serious run at growing is based largely off of that fact.
So now I have a good amount of mushrooms stored in air tight containers. Currently they stay in my gun safe which is dark and has no relatively no air flow at all.
So my question(s) is should I continue to store them as is, in the safe in air tight containers with desiccant packets OR do I need to freeze them?
Would freezing them make them last longer and last question, how long will they stay potent if I leave them as is? Thanks Shroomery.

What you're doing is perfect. They'll last basically forever if kept that way.
Freezing is iffy to me because it risks condensation.

Indeed you are doing it right. Stored as such they can keep for a couple years.

I'd use actual canning jars (quart or half gallon) with 2piece metal lids.
I wouldn't trust any of those to be truly air tight.

Looks good to me. If you're not already doing this, I strongly recommend the desiccant packs with beads that change color to let you know when they've absorbed their capacity in moisture. Mine start at yellow (dry) and turn blue when wet. I know my setup (similar to yours) is moisture-proof because I'll check on them every few weeks, in spite of high ambient humidity, and the indicator beads stay yellow.
If I've opened a particular bag to grab some dried goods a few times, I'll need to swap the desiccant occasionally because I've kept reintroducing ambient humid air.
You can find these on Amazon, there are a few brands and they come in all sizes.

Love the half gallon canning jars for storage.

That's something I wanted to mention too. Ime the rubber gasketed latch ones are perfectly airtight to the point that they'll float. I'd recommend changing the rest of them to two piece Mason jars for long term storage.

Thanks much. Great info. Mine currently don't do that but I will get the ones that do.

Never used desiccant. Never had a problem. Canning jars ftw.

Hopefully you dried them out very very well for at least 24 hours prior to putting in jars. If so, should have no potency loss

I can't say they all got 24 hours in the dehydrator but each batch got a test where I snapped the stem of the biggest mushroom in the flush. If it wasn't cracker dry it went back on.
