Abundant growth vs sporadic growth

Hello boomertown Hope all is well. My question is a simple one today. I see all of these grow journals and pictures of wall to wall mushroom growth, literally no empty space at all. How does one achieve such growth? I am assuming it comes down to genetics, but is that really all it is? I generally obtain my myc from a certain "premium" website for "spores", from which i have had two separate grows go alright. They were both far from abundant by any means. Should i reevaluate where i am obtaining my spores? Any help or advice is much appreciated

You'll never get what your looking for with a MS grow. For a full canopy its all about working with a genetic isolate, then controlling and dialing in surface conditions.

MS = multispore.
It's not where you get your spores, it's that you're using spores.

Are prints more reliable?

Prints are still spores.
You need to isolate genetics on agar, or clone a mushroom.

My opinion.. Prints are more reliable than a spore syringe full of water. But they both should go directly to a agar dish and transferred a few time for a couple of reasons.
1. to be sure there's no contaminates and If so you can transfer from a clean area on your dish/plate. 2. to reduce the number of strains. 3 to 5 transfers will work.
If your looking for a nice full growth tub It helps to have nice clean spawn, free of bacteria and mold.
