How do I know how much substrate/grain ratio to use

Hi guys. I'm newbie here, I'll soon start my journey on mushroom cultivation and I'm preparing everything and doing research.
I have a 25L tube (36 x 42 x 25 cm to be exact) and I was wondering, how do I measure how much grain/substrate I'll need? I'll be using Bod's tek on coco coir substrate and I'll be spawning with uncle ben's tek. Thanks in advance

Drop some quarts of water in there to see how many quarts it takes to get up to 3 - 4" of depth. Go 2:1 sub to spawn on your first shot. You can get away with less but, more is better- as long as all your spawn is good.

Sorry for not replying before. Thanks for your reply. I measured 2.8q to get to a little above 3 inches. So taking that measurement, how do I calculate the amount of sub/grain?

if i see uncle ben one more time i swear ima fucking lose it. that is the stupidest most retarded shit ever bestowed upon mushroom cultivation. i mean christ id rather see someone buy premade bags/jars from the worst vendor possible than that silly shit. it has the lowest success rate i have ever seen. im glad that you are doing your research tho just make sure you do it here and stay off of redit where that mickey mouse shit came from in the first place. the information and teks you will find here are proven many times over to work time and time again. id start by searching bods teks and finding one you like and follow itbto the letter. hes got everything put together where its easy to follow. but if you absolutely refuse to do shit yourself and i cant believe im saying this but if u cant make your own buy some premade grain bags from a vendor. god that hurts me to say lol. i just cant stand to see uncle fuckface used one more time. cuz then youl be on here askin whats wrong and why didnt it work and then you will have wasted all that time. so its better to just follow a proper tek to begin with. here is a link for bods teks that will have everything you need. also there is a awsum search engine here in the upper right hand corner and you can pretty much find anything ud want with it. but plz plz plz do urself a favor and dont play with unce bens just eat it instead.
i hope you take this advice heres a great place to start

Well thanks. Yeah I ended up thinking I'll make my grain with brown rice still, but no uncle ben's tek. I don't have a PC and I'd like to avoid buying one just for this task as this is my first grow (even tho I'll probably get one when I get the hang of it, but just don't want to spend the money right now)

So I'm looking up PC's on amazon and I guess I might just pick one up and be safe. Would a small one do the job?

You won’t regret getting a larger one.
This hobby expands fairly fast. 👍

all i can promise you is that uncle bens is a joke u may as well just flip a coin and pray. that shits a surefire way to get contamination fast. or look up pf tek thats brown rice flower and vermiculite cakes. while its way better to pc them you can also steam sterilize them. and if ur not using agar and plan to just shoot dirty ass spores into something pf tek is def the best way to go

Coming back to my original post, how can I measure the amount of substrate and grain to prepare? I measured around 7.3q of water to get to a little above 3 inches of thickness in my tub. I have a bunch of 650g coco coir bricks.
