Trying aquire a 4th PC for some time, every place sold out, and back ordered for months to come, all major retailers, Amazon, nothing to be had except over priced shit on eBay. Any one have any luck recently? Even manufacturers said out of stock until November. I'm pretty resourceful, but hit a dead end.
Also, gotta be careful, lots of scam companies out there.

I see them come up in the used classifieds a lot, but I can never get to them before like 10 other people do. They're sold the instant they go up.

Need one with a gauge , at high altitude, and AA not worth the cost IMO, and don't think Cadco burners can hold the weight, the 941 is 30 lbs dry, lol.
Even AA PC's, unavailable until December, according to their site

I was able to get a 23-quart Presto from RuralKing.com and it was cheaper than most places too.

I didn’t put two and two together during this pandemic but it was a bear to find a PC. I used to have an AA 921 and had to sell it a long time ago before moving to Texas. Man I regret that, picked it up for $70 back then. I was just trying to get a Presto 23qt and can’t find one below $200. I sucked it up on eBay because I need one very soon. I found a vintage 915 in perfect working order for $160 free shipping which is a steal right now. I like the petcock of the older ones, will wait until it breaks before replacing with the weight. I just needed something to do 7 quart jars. I almost went with a new sterilizer but then would need to babysit agar or get a smaller pc. Ah well what can you do. I’ve been jonesing to start again, gotta pay a premium for right now.

Gonna wait, most places hoping for September, not a big deal, just trying to add one or two to the collection. Seems weird,AA, Presto, TFal, etc, been sold out for 3+ months, unsure if it's China related, but just seems strange, especially with canning season approaching. Thanks for the feed back gents, just gonna be patient, not buying crap, not that desperate.
15qt useless to me. Thanks though

All manufacturing has slowed significantly due to restrictions regarding COVID protocols. It’s not like these companies haven’t manufactured any units in months. It’s that they’ve only produced a fraction of what they normally would have AND the demand has skyrocketed. Everyone is trying to create their own doomsday stockpile of canned life all of a sudden.

Thats true as well, but even in May, Presto AA, etc, said September for delivery. Just saying I think imports are messed up. Wonder why there's plenty of dehydrators out there. I think it's metal supply and factories, not so much everyone wants to can, plenty of Mason jars to be had, racks and racks of jars for harvest season. Just seems outta balance. If PCs sold out for months, why not canning jars? See what I'm saying....

Glass is made on projected contracts. Those molds may be ran once a year or less. There's stockpiles of mason jars.
Pressure cookers are probably not made in enormous batches like that. There's only so many glass factories. OI glass makes something like 2/3 of every glass container on the planet. So take for example Maker's Mark whisky. They have to place a glass order a year in advance with an estimate of what they'll need. Because their bottles will only be ran once or twice in a year.

Working retail I can tell you there is major supply issues with most companies. Toilet paper is a great example, they can calculate how much they need to produce so they don’t have excessive inventory to warehouse. Since everyone was staying home they end up using way more tp. Their predictions were thrown way off based on the unbelievable demand due to COVID and simply because people are using a lot more. That’s just in addition to the fact with social distancing production has slowed down like stated before. Also, throw in the fact that some people are stuck at home, working from home, so there’s a ton of home improvement going on and a massive demand especially for hobby merchandise. I can tell you that there’s thousands of items we can’t get in stock because the supplier is just not producing enough to meet the current demand. Not only are people going nuts canning but what do we use a pc for? Sterilization, enough said hehe.

Manufacturing is going to be impacted relative to how many human hands are required to get the product made. Relatively speaking, glass jars require hardly any human hands, as most of the process is automated. Pressure canners, especially larger ones with lots of individual parts, require human hands at many different points along the way.
Production lines are usually fine tuned to be incredibly optimized. Removing just one person from it means a whole new, less optimized process needs to be established. Just gets slower and slower with each person you have to remove.

My local hardware store had a couple last I checked. If anyone is interested I would grab one and ship at buyers expense. I seem to remember them being around $165 for Presto 23's Probably put it a bit over $200 shipped.

Try the nationwide search on OfferUp (not sure if LetGo has it). Just got a 23qt Presto with no lid for $30 on there. Also, thrift stores; I got my original 23qt for $25 at Goodwill.
You can set up RSS on eBay and you'll get an email when there's a listing within your price range.
