Three Stigmata is absolutely genius. Exceptionally good sci-horror. I also heartily recommend Ubik.

Just finished the extended edition of American Gods by Niel Gaiman the other day. Currently thumbing through some Lovecraft stories while I figure out what to dig into next. A regular in ODD raved about Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Going to keep my eyes open for it when I'm at the shop next.
Cool thread I need to drop by this forum more often.

Carrie by Stevie King.
I don't get a "king of horror" vibe but it was his first and maybe he's just priming things to come.

Malazan series is srsly good - definitely one of the deepest, most fleshed out, most epic series out there.

2 positive recommendations is more than enough for me. I'll be checking it out. Thanks!

Started on the Legends of Drizzt. Something like 30 books in the series. Easy and entertaining reading if you like that sort of thing.

Dispatches was absolutely amazing. The guy who wrote it co-wrote the scripts for both Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket.
It's all about the gritty, surreal insanity of the Vietnam War, and how being there gave you some sort of morbid high, feeling more alive than you ever had or would again. If you're interested in learning more about all this, this would be a good place to go. Tim O'Brien's books are excellent, too, and in fact I actually like them a little bit better. Anyway, great book.
Next up for me is some lighter fare: The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie
